Nothing will be safer and cheaper than the sun.
Until it explodes.
Nothing will be safer and cheaper than the sun.
I'd say the risk is worth the carbon savings, but I'd also say that there are better options than nuclear energy

My biggest, probably ignorant, issue with Solar, is that my house is used to obtain the energy, I give it to some company, who then sells it back to me. I have a problem with that. Now, where am I ignorant in my stance?
Pls start a thread on energy + the environment altogether.
Cheap Nat Gas is just a short term solution, IMO. Plus, methane still contributes to GHG emissions.
Agreed on the kicky remark. So much has changed in the past 10 years.

You don't have the right setup, or you are not producing much solar or wind on site. In the one house we had with solar and wind we had panels on the roof and vertical axis turbines in the backyard (3 of them). It produced enough energy that it generally cut our power bill in half or better and there were times when we sold power back to the power company and got a credit on our bill. Not much, but it was a little.
