What's new

Neto

He's a 3rd string guy starting in his rookie year. In over his head. He's shown flashes of good offense, better defense than most of us imagined AND he's had to do it WAY earlier than expected. Once Exum comes back and he slides back down the depth chart, I think he'll be fine. He also has a great work ethic. P3 and professional coaches are going to be big for him moving forward.

It's like Neto starting this year is to just give him experience to eventually be the main backup cuz they planned on trading Burke this entire time.

Neto sucks, but one thing I like about him is his driving ability with court vision. I wish Exum had half the ability that Neto does.
I need some more play breakdowns Frank. It's been so long! Glad your posting more, keeps it real.
This has got to be a joke.
You should know who Frank is by now.

As far as Neto, He is fine from 3. Fine at the rim, but from other 2pts outside of 3' he shoots 28.7% That is a small issue. He need to have a BJB exorcism. Maybe he can be fixed..

I think we can safely say Neto isn't going to turn into much. I don't think it matters that he is a rookie. He isn't NBA calibre. He peaked in Summer League the first year.

Wow. You guys are tough. This is a lot of criticism for an undersized second round pick who is asked to played against top shelf NBA PG's every night. Can you name the last Jazz rookie who came out of the gate and was expected to start every game?

Neto has a chance to be a decent back-up PG for years in this league - better than or as good as Earl Watson, Milt Palacio, Jason Hart, John Crotty, Rusty LaRue, Howard Eisley, Carlos Arroyo, Brevin Knight and Raul Lopez. However my guess is he goes back to Brazil after his contract is up.

Poor Neto. He's hit the rookie wall, and the buzzards have come to feast.

He is in over his head at this point as a starter on a team trying to make the playoffs.
I think he's a solid prospect going forward as a backup, and this year will help him
experience wise. Though/ now he really needs some time off to recharge. He looks beat.

Now is when a vet PG would help a lot.

Trey Burke should be starting. Neto's expendable IMO, he can be kept as the 3rd PG, I kinda prefer getting rid of him and keeping Trey for another year though, and finding a better '3rd' PG this summer...

You can't give away Neto though. He has to be a thrown in to make the #'s work. Can you name a current reserve PG, who gets regular minutes, who is worse than Neto?

I looked through a minutes list of PG's and a few names that popped out at me, and might be worse than Neto are: Ronnie Price, Shabazz Napier, and Jerian Grant,

He shoots okay set shots but he takes forever to get them off. When he drives to the hoop and shoots it reminds me of **** I used to do when I was a kid playing with older kids. You drive and get stuck and throw up something weird that is aimed in the general direction of the backboard and hoop.

Neto is not that good and doesn't have a high ceiling. I like him as my third pg, but don't expect much else.

HAHAHA That's what they said about John Stockton!!

I'm kidding, guys

You wouldn't trade Neto for Jerian Grant?
