Will definitely be keeping an eye on this. Kenwood and NBAnerd know their stuff and have the amazing ability to discuss the Jazz without constant reference to lame internet memes or idiotic Jazzfanz humour.

I keep forgetting the internet is global eh. I'm just familiar with a lot of Canadians, and since they are geographically the closest country to Utah, where King's English is written/spoken, I just suspected that they might be Canadian. Nice one! Cheerio!

That spring, a contest was held to name the expansion team. Of the more than 6,500 names submitted, eight semi-finalists emerged: Jazz, Dukes, Crescents, Pilots, Cajuns, Blues, Deltas, and Knights.
After much deliberation, team officials announced that the new team name would be the New Orleans Jazz on June 7, 1974.
Three contestants had entered the Jazz name with the same postmark date, so team officials had Miss New Orleans 1974, Kay Johnson, choose a winner out of a hopper.
yeah, I'm guilty.
moving on.....
Sweeping it under the carpet? Nice.
