New Jazz-related blog

I know someone will accuse us of spamming, but since we've been around these boards for years, cut us some slack here.

Nerd and I used to have a Jazz blog (it was mostly him really) and we have decided to start up again. We enjoy Jazzfanz and will continue to participate here, but we also want to do some actual writing. We're just getting off the ground, but we'd appreciate you fine folks checking us out and giving us suggestions about things we could do better or topics you'd like to see.

Right now we have a couple blog posts related to the draft, and that will be our focus for the next little while, followed by free agency. I'm also trying to assemble a couple of trivia or other contests and will offer some Jazz-related prizes to the winners.

We invite you to check us out, comment on our posts, and let us know if you have any site feedback (either via Contact Us over there or PM over here). We'll do the same next time you start a Jazz-related blog.

Well, since I can't apparently even use the word "BS" in here, I'll definitely check out other alternatives to Jazzfanz. Hopefully it morphs into something more. Jason...I love ya' man, but some of the other people are ruining this place.

Will definitely be keeping an eye on this. Kenwood and NBAnerd know their stuff and have the amazing ability to discuss the Jazz without constant reference to lame internet memes or idiotic Jazzfanz humour.

Archie: post count = 310
Hopper: post count = 422

What's wrong with this picture?

(P.S. Good luck on the blog, Kenwood!)

I too will check out your blog. I have always liked your and nerds comments. Like others have said, you know your stuff and you're mature about it

Thanks, Colton and all who have checked us out. We'll see how it goes. Nerd and I like to write, but often we have a pretty small audience (each other?). We'll give this a whirl and keep it up as long as we enjoy it.

And I'll get working on that post count. I hadn't gotten around to registering on the new JF until this week, but definitely nothing personal.

My sincere apologies for what is to come, sir.

Isn't there a jazzfanz.ca for Canadiens?

Pfft. No. Canadians are just weird.

How come you automatically assuime he/she/it (you never can be sure aorund here any more) is Canadian. Could be English or Aussie, IINM.

I keep forgetting the internet is global eh. I'm just familiar with a lot of Canadians, and since they are geographically the closest country to Utah, where King's English is written/spoken, I just suspected that they might be Canadian. Nice one! Cheerio!

Hoser;-)

This incredibly blatant spam. Most of the mods are either at church or working out to youtube videos.

the problem with the map as I see it is that Mexico should be labeled "does the lawn" and China should be labeled "does the laundry" otherwise it's pretty good

Good luck with your blog Kenwood & Nerd!

In reading Nerd's entry about the new logo, I checked the link about to the history of the name and logo and found this little gem:
That spring, a contest was held to name the expansion team. Of the more than 6,500 names submitted, eight semi-finalists emerged: Jazz, Dukes, Crescents, Pilots, Cajuns, Blues, Deltas, and Knights.

After much deliberation, team officials announced that the new team name would be the New Orleans Jazz on June 7, 1974.

Three contestants had entered the Jazz name with the same postmark date, so team officials had Miss New Orleans 1974, Kay Johnson, choose a winner out of a hopper.

So the Jazz name came out of a hopper - that cracked me up!!!! Speaking of which, seems we haven't seem much of Carolina Jazz around lately.
