NFL 2015 Season Discussion Thread

No they didn't.
What was the pats overall record during that stretch? What was their playoff record.

You yourself said you can't simply look at super bowl wins. Im confident that the pats still had a very good record even when they didn't win the super bowl. Can't win it every year. There are other good teams in the nfl besides the patriots
I agree they were good at that time. They just didn't win it all. I don't think that means everything. Just arguing with those that are using that as their only reason Brady is better than manning. Once again I think Brady is top 5 all time. I just rank Peyton higher. Peyton took worse teams further and his teams talked relied on him more. His statistics blow Brady out of the water. Winning is factor. Winning in the super bowl matter. But there are many factors. More than happy to hear a good Brady argument. All I am hearing is that the only thing that matters is super bowl wins and that makes Brady the best. I guess Peyton and Trent Dilfer are on the same level.

Love that the Brady people make the argument I am saying Brady is trash to make my argument sound weaker. He is great, just not the greatest qb ever. I also love that they are arguing what their team has done. That also makes their argument weaker. Pats have had a dominant team for a long time. That isn't only because of Brady. The have had a lot of talent around him.

I think this argument is done for me. I gave my side and outside of fishonjazz the Brady arguers are just calling names and have nothing productive to offer.

How do Montana's stats compare to Brady, elway, manning, farve?

All I ever heard was that montana was the greatest of all time because of his superbowls.

Manning has had Harrison, Wayne, Thomas, Sanders, and so on to throw too. Brady had Moss for one good year, and only more recently has had Gronk and Edelman. He's done way better at succeeding with far less.

Brady > Manning is an easy one for me.

Peyton has choked too many times for me to think he's the greatest. I'd seriously rather have Eli in a big game over Peyton.

Good for Peyton to make the superbowl this year though. He gets a chance to go out on top. I doubt it though. I expect the Panthers to win this one. I also expect Peyton to throw a pick in a crucial moment to end the game. That's just what I've come to expect from him now.

Let's be honest, Drew Brees takes a fat dump on all of them.

You're a complete clown. You don't even know when Spygate happened and you're going to talk about it as if it's Gospel. Spygate was in 2007. Since then the Pats have gone:

11-5
10-6
14-2
13-3
12-4
12-4
12-4
12-4

Don't bother replying because your opinion on Brady, the Pats and football is meaningless to me at this point.

And only 1 ring cuz the Seahawks choked the playcalling.

This is an over rated argument IMO. Not arguing that Manning is the greatest but he is also 3-1 on AFC title games and has a ring on his finger. Possibly two in a couple weeks. Over stated.

Are we going to point to losses? then we can pull up all the years Elway lost, or Brady, Montana, Young, Marino, Moon, Aikman, Farve, Rodgers...

Let me just solve the equation of who is the best quarterback and team of all time.

When the Pat's went undefeated in the regular season. They were widely regarded as the best team ever. They had the numbers to back it up.

But what happened?

They lost to Eli Manning and the Giants in the superbowl. If that was the best team ever, but lost to the Giants, that means the Giants are the best team ever, and Eli is the best quarterback ever.

And just to prove it wasn't a fluke, the Giants did it again.

Boom!

Giants = Best team ever

Eli = Best Quarterback ever.

It's not overrated. You've turned a blind eye.

I like Peyton. I root for him. I've rooted for him in every playoffs. He's routinely screwed up in big moments. Those are facts.

It is what it is. He's still great, but he's had problems finishing big games.

He has 1 ring. That's it. For as good as he was in the regular season he should have more.
