NFL Survival Pool

'

And have you done survival pools a lot?

Been playing Fantasy and survival pools for I would say 15 years or so.. since I was in High School with the buddies. We have a Survival Pool in which we all put in $50 each. Fantasy league or 2 (2 this year) that are $150 and $50 each and then also usually lay some bets per week for picks against the spread.

Football, either college or NFL, is one area that I follow the closest. NBA right behind it and then everything else.

How many times have you won the survivor pool?

I thought both Green Bay and Philly were locks. I was saving Green Bay for their upcoming Rams game. I wrongly thought that San Francisco going cross country against the Iggles' defense would get handled. Little did I know the Dream Team would choke and gag like they did.
I feel for ya. I was saving Green Bay too and considered taking Philly, but didn't feel right about wanting my favorite team to lose (been a 49'er fan for 30 years). Wow, now I feel really old when I say I started liking the 9'ers back in the DeBerg days after moving to northern California.

I've already burned NYG and SD. Was considering Houston, but that changed with the Johnson injury. Hate to pick road teams, but I'll go with NO this week.

I'm rolling with the Giants. Not a great favorite by my estimation. But this whole week has a lot of tricky games.

Really? If I hadn't already used the Giants that would have been my pick. I think that is the biggest lock of the day. Giants will even cover 10.

well probably not now since I just jinxed them.

Seahawks don't have a good team, but they have some very good players at the skill positions -- Rice and Lynch are good players, and that Stanford undrafted FA is a fantastic 3rd down receiver. Tavaris stinks, but he can run. Hopefully their suckitude on the road continues, but I think there's upset potential.

Wow... well it looks like I f'ed up by taking the 'safe' pick in the Giants. Never trust a Manning.

You're insane. Lynch is one of the bottom tier starting backs in the league.

Good thing I couldn't pick the NYG or I'd be out. I had New Orleans. Surviving to another week
So you're "Ace Boobtoucher?"

The only game I really liked this week was the NYG at home vs. Seattle. We both lucked out by using the Giants in Week #2 when most everyone else took the Pittsburgh game. I was going to go with Houston until the Johnson injury, then I switched my pick. Just down to the two of us now...barely, but we made it. This was an even bigger surprise than KC losing in the 1st week.

Indeed. Are we the only 2 left now?
