NFL Talk

According to the NFL rulebook, a runner can declare himself down "by falling to the ground, or kneeling, and making no effort to advance."

After the game Cruz said he thought he was touched which he why he went down. This of course makes no sense.

Ironically, the real reason he went down is he's a rookie playing for Tom Coughlin and he's horrified of fumbling the football. A rookie fumbling the ball in the crucial situation under Tom Coughlin is an automatic death sentence.

Death Sentence? He may end up the starter over Manningham.

You probably didn't read my post correctly. Coughlin is very unforgiving to rookies who make mistakes. Cruz did not fumble the football so no harm, no foul. And yes he should start over Mannigham

The third best WR for the Cowboys sure did have one hell of a game for the Lions....

Tony romo is making a strong case for being this generation's Bret Farve. He'll wow you one game. Then completely blow it the next.

Ultimately, Dallas would be served better with just an "average" QB that won't do anything "great" but won't do anything "bad." They have already a pretty solid defense and some really nice offensive weapons. They just need someone who doesn't shoot the team in the foot constantly trying to "make the big play."

Give the Cowboys Hasselback, Fitzpatrick, Stafford, Eli, or Josh Freeman and they'd be super bowl contenders. With Romo, they're nothing more than fools gold since he cannot be trusted.

This is absurd on so many levels.

You are that confident that that they will win in San Francisco late in the season? I think the Niners will win that game. It certainly not the easy win you make it out to be with what you said.

I'm assuming your lack of response to my challenge of a $500 bet means you're not very confident in the Niners. No surprise. I wouldn't have any confidence either if I were you.

As a Cowboy hater, you couldn't ask for a better QB than Romo. The guy prances around the sidelines with his hat on backwards looking like some smug douche with 3 rings.

The media wants to make this guy a winner so bad; but it ain't happening.

Who is better the NFC South? Carolina Panthers, the worst team in the division, have nearly beat many good teams (including the Packers). They have the 2nd best team in the NFL (Saints), a top 10 ten team (Bucs), and a team that should be top 10, but is slumping (falcons).

I would say the NFC North is the best division right now. Not saying it will end this way but if you compare the teams, I think the North edges out the South.

Packers > Saints
Lions > Bucs
Bears > Falcons (based only on the Bears destroying them in week 1)
Vikings < Panthers

Basically if you line up the divisions from top to bottom the only advantage the South has is Carolina over Minnesota. Not to mention the North has the only 2 undefeated teams remaining.

What are the odds Alex Smith redeems his career this year?

If ever there was a year for him to break out, this is it. I was stoked that Harbaugh was taking over, and he hasn't disappointed me. I think he has shown that he knows how to get the best out of a QB. Don't get me wrong - Luck is incredibly talented anyway, but Harbaugh maximized it. Smith is not nearly as physically gifted as Luck, but he's similar in that he is a very intelligent QB. Hopefully his O-line likes the taste of winning.

I'll give you Packers over Saints (hurts to say)
Bucs may be better than Lions. Yes Lions have the flash of high scoring, but Freeman and The Bucs just get wins.
Bears over Falcons now, but legitimately think the Falcons are going to have a comeback period. They have much more talent than the Bears.
And yes, The Vikings are fing terrible.
