NFL Talk

As a Bears fan, I'm not sure how I feel about Cutler breaking his thumb. I mean, I don't like him at all, but he's been playing well. The Bears are screwed without him.

At least they have reliable run game, so whatever backup comes in won't be completely screwed like last year.

I liked Suggs coming out of college (AZ St. I believe) but over the years I've changed my mind on him. I'm not a Balt fan (just follow the 2 Utes on the team) but I do respect their D and believe they play hard and push the limit but aren't dirty, except for Suggs he crosses that hard/dirty line too often for my liking and seems to get away with it the majority of the time which pisses me off even more.

I like Suggs just because he looks like Bizmarke

I don't think we're that screwed. The schedule is pretty favorable. at Oakland, Kansas City, at Tebow, Seattle, then at Green Bay and at Minnesota. 4-2 isn't out of the question even with Hanie starting. Hell, Green Bay could have the #1 seed locked up by that game and rest their key players. That could be winnable considering what Hanie did against them last year. Obviously I think the Bears lose this Sunday at Oakland, but I don't think the season is shot. It's not like we were going to beat New Orleans or Green Bay in the playoffs with Cutler anyway.

Or another way to look at it is you have four road games left with a backup qb at the helm. The home games vs. Seattle and KC should be wins but many an upset occur every week. I'd be shocked if the Bears go 4-2 or better finishing things out. I'd guess 3-3 but 2-4 or worse would not surprise me. What would surprise me is GB resting their players. I think they want an undefeated season. I have no reason to suggest that but it's just the feeling I get watching them.

3-3 will get the Bears into the playoffs. I think 10 wins will be enough. We still have a great defense, good running game, and the best special teams in the NFL. I can't see this team folding down the stretch just cause Cutler is gone. I mean look at the game against the Lions 2 weeks ago. The Bears destroyed Detroit and Cutler had a horrible game. If there's any team in the league that can win games without great QB play it's the Bears.

Well those that didn't want Cutler now get their wish (Just look back at this thread).

Good luck!

Cutler has been playing fairly well over the past few games (minus the Detroit game) but he's not the reason why the Bears are a good football team. Defense, Hester, and Forte are the reasons why the Bears will still make the playoffs.

Wait till everybody stacks the box now that there is no threat of Cutler casually flicking the ball 40 yards. Bye-Bye running game. Hello tired D.

Edit: rather than a new post.

I doubt any of you watched the Browns/Jags, but that was a really good game. MJD with the LBJ celebration, then disappearing in the 2nd half. Very satisfying to see him stuffed. Gabbert was really hot n cold. Tons of BS calls on both sides, the refs were led by the same guy that made the Bottlegate call. Dbag. Game came down to the last play which was a baffling non-run from the 1 by Del Rio. That might have been the straw for all those hillbilly fans down there.

Saw some major improvement on offense. Yea, 14 points but the Jags have a very nice D and Cleveland only had 7 drives. 2 points a drive is pretty good. My guards finally started playing well, Pinkston had a great pull to spring a TD and Colt actually was able to stand in the pocket and throw most of the game, resulting in a very, very good performance. Watching that game I only saw maybe 2 bad plays by Colt. He's looking legit and has survived the horrendous pounding he got while the rook guards learned.

I like what I have been seeing the last 3 weeks. This is not a contender by any means but the foundation has been laid and all the good plays are being made by the young guys. Totally different than what I'd been seeing from the Browns the last decade. Don't be surprised to see this team win a couple division games as the season plays out.

Yep, Forte can say hello to 7-8 guys in the box.

I wouldn't write off the Hanie kid so fast. Yeah he got pick-6'ed in the NFC Championship last year; but looks like he can move the football.

Hopefully. I was surprised the Bears didn't address a backup QB in the off-season due to the # of hits Cutler was going to take because of the O-line.
