Nikola Mirotic

I would trade Favors for any asset that helps our future.

I would only trade Hood for a great asset. Mirotic is a lateral move. Once we trade Hood, most on this forum will be whining for a dynamic wing who can shoot. And on top of that, we stand to keep Hood for a while. We might only have Mirotic for 18 months.

I dont consider hood "dynamic". And though i think he should be a great shooter (and maybe will be) career averages of 41% from the field and 37% from three are not that great (career bests of 42% from field and 40% from 3) . Poor rebounder, poor passer, (not sure about his defense really but has a bad rep among fans it seems)
Add in the fact that he is always injured and the fact that we dont know how much some other team might offer him...... Im not super excited about hood.
Plus i think its easier to find a 6-6 to 6-8 wing that can shoot (i think there are quite a few of those) and do little else than it is to find a 6-10 guy that can shoot like mirotic is shooting. Mirotic is more rare than hood imo.
And mirotic is more a need than hood imo. We can play JJ, Burks, Ingles, mitchell, exum, thabo at the wings.

Fair points. All of them.

I just feel that Mirotic also comes with his own limitations. And I do think that Hood is a better asset because of his restricted status. As for PF coverage, I think we should be using Ingles some there and maybe we will once Favors is gone.

I think I just want a trade that pushes us one way or the other... If we got Mirotic without using a 1st round pick I think it helps us win more than Hood and Favors (assuming a healthy Rudy is coming). If we aren't making win now moves then I'd like to see us liquidate the roster a bit and move guys that aren't part of the future. Playing with less than ideal parts and not giving enough development time for guys that will be here later is not what I want if we are going to be a team that just makes the playoffs.

The Favs/Rubio/Gobert thing needs to be sorted out ASAP once Rudy is back... Also, if Joe Jesus can't get things going I think its time to move on... play Thabo, Jerebko, Royce in the 4.

Mirotic is about as good of a fit that we could find all things considered. If he goes somewhere else for 25 cents on the dollar I'll be pissed. If they want too much I am fine passing.

I would give up any combination outside of Exum (?), DM, Ingles, Hood, Gobert, & 1st's for mirotic but a 3rd team would likely need to be involved as the assets that would likely interest CHI are (seemingly) our long-term core.

Maybe a PF/C needy team is willing to ship prospects/picks to CHI for Favors. Or a contender looking to add depth/experience.

One way or another, we need to commit to a specific direction & avoid losing any asset(s) of any value for nothing in return.

Utah has traded 2 first round picks in the last 2 years for short term improvement, and things haven't really worked out too well. That's just not a road we can continue down at this point. Utah should be looking to move their tradable assets for picks, in order to undo some of the damage from the Haywood sweepstakes.

An expiring + a 2nd is a pipe dream. Somebody will offer a better deal. It's possible Utah could pull off a 3 team trade where somebody else sends Chicago FRP, but again, Utah should be more interested in keeping the pick themselves.

I just don't see a way to get him to Utah without giving up a first, and Utah can't continue to gamble like that at this point.

It becomes a lost asset if DL doesn't want to match though. Don't assume he will at any price, he might want to keep a max spot open for Klay or someone else in 2-3 years.

Thank you.

Let's not talk about players like they're never poison pills. Hood seriously worries me. You blow 20 million on a guy that misses or sucks/is a non-factor in half of his games and you've blown your shot at being a contender with the difficulties the Jazz are facing.

By the way, that's a thing. Rodney Hood has missed 1/3 of his games for mostly non-contact injuries and anxiety (... as a pro athlete?), is terrible in a considerable portion of games, and shows no grit.

Don't worry, they're not trading a 1st for Mirotic.

I think Hood, Favors might get it done. Favors is better then lopez and he could easily start next to markenan

The Bulls don't want to win this year, that's why they are trading Mirotic in the first place. He's 27 and doesn't fit their rebuild.
