Any trade NO makes they need to get off salary for next year... The article says they want those guys out but it also says they want Cousins back.

They might do a Thabo in and a first out if they can get off of Asik, but they can stretch Ajinca... his deal not that big.

Yes, they are. New Orleans is in a very delicate time. They have 2 premiere players in the front court they desperately want to hold onto. They are dying for better wing play. The trade I proposed only adds $5 million to next year but gives them somebody other teams obviously want. Unless you think Woj is a dumbass too. If other teams are guageing interest in Burks, that means he is no longer just a salary dump.

If Minny or Portland offer a first for Niko he can still say no to the trade. He wants to be a starter or a featured player... not sure either of those scenarios allows that. Add in that both teams would likely want to dump bad salary on Chicago and I'm not sure our offer of expirings and multiple 2nds doesn't get the job done.

Minny can't really pay Niko next year so they would likely view him as a rental... unless they are trading Wiggins.

Portland will want to send Leonard in the deal and might not exercise the option on Niko next year depending on what their plans are with Nurkic.

We are in a good position here... don't overpay.

He wouldnt play over Moore or Miller, both whom are 45% 3pt shooters. It's 2017 and first round picks are worth dudes who can maybe start and are definite rotation players. Burks is neither. Maybe if they are getting out of *both* Ajinca and Asik, but they arent doing this terrible trade just to get out of Ajinca's 5 million.

I live in the southeast and have buddies who are season ticket holders with the Pelicans. They have to win right now in order to make the playoffs in order to keep Boogie AND Davis. Their whole franchise depends on it in their eyes.

We know Burks is limited. However, Ajinca is an anchor for them. If the Pelicans can get any additional quality wing play in place of the guys I listed, they would jump on it. Burks is a massive, massive upgrade over Ajinca.

Why wouldn't the league allow them to stretch Deng? If that provision is part of the CBA, then they can do it.
And that's certainly good news about AB and Mirotic. Give Chicago AB or expirings and a 2nd. Chicago will want more, but Utah can stand firm. Bulls have to deal him.

There is also another part of the CBA that says any move that is purely to circumvent the CBA is against the CBA... pretty damn clear that move would 100% be to circumvent the CBA.

There is more to it as well. Deng would have to agree. I'm sure the Lakers have already kicked the tires on the legality of a Deng extension and waive with the league.

I mean also... if they would do a deal with their 1st for AB... we do that deal yesterday and then talk to Chicago later.
