No More Free Lunch for Don's BFF

Really good but somehow a team trying to make the next step doesnt seem to want him at all. We will see what kind of package he gets in return, but if they trade him for very little that tells me something is up. He cries about touches, is a below average defender, doesnt have a great shot profile for the modern NBA, and is often injured. Plus he's a guy who relies on being athletic.
there is a reason a lot of teams want him. he dipped this past season, but prior to that, he had two straight seasons of 40% 3pt shooting. All five seasons he's been in the league he's been above 60% TS and he's a 17 ppg guy. not to mention the Hawks aren't giving him away - their asking price is high and if they don't get it, they will roll with him because he is in fact really good.

Yeah, while playing with one of the best passers in the NBA and yet he still manages to complain about touches?

Ill wait to see what they get for him.

His contract is pretty fair too. Especially when the cap goes up or you compare it to Tobias Harris for example.

There is very clearly some issues behind the scenes... could be butts heads with Trae or could be basketball related. I don't love him but I think he's a solid player and would add a different dynamic. I also think his negotiations went sideways with management and there may be scar tissue. I wouldn't give up a first at all... but if it was a Bogey centered deal or he was included with Rudy I think its interesting at least. May just be chair shuffling if its Bogey for Collins.

Sure, if all it takes is Bogey and Clarkson, I'd do it.

Moving Bogdanovic (33) + Clarkson (30) at a combined salary of $33.6 million for John Collins (24) at $23.5 million would actually be a great move for the jazz.

We should have kept Paschall :(
I’m totally fine with keeping young, hardworking, energy guys like Paschall, Juancho and House - as long as it’s for cheap. If you can do that, then you should fill out as many spots past your top 8 with guys exactly like that - especially since they all have got a specific body type that the Jazz have been lacking under DL’s leadership.

They would probably have to add salary to make it work. I dont think that would be a valid trade.

Paschall is cheap, and he was actually good last season. He showed the ability to be efficient in a smaller offensive role while also providing versatility on both ends. He showed that he can fit in, and we didn’t even use his best strengths. I don’t know what more people expect from a cheap, end of roster/rotation type guy.

That Rudy Gay signing has really cost us, and the costs will keep coming.
