Noah Vonleh. Why???

I could see him being the 5th best player in an exceptional draft, at worst probably, I guess?
thats exactly where i had him in my big board today in the draft thread.

You cannot imagine how badly SPYDER must hate that song. It's ****ing impossible to conceive. And he has to sing it at every show he plays for the rest of his miserable life.

Ppl who see Noah Vonleh as a top 5 pick and future all star, pls explain.

To me looks like a dude who is *probably* a starter in the NBA, but not much more.

Can't imagine passing up on someone with sky high potential like Aaron Gordon for someone as blah as Vonleh.

What am I missing Vonleh lovers??

High fliers are not widely appreciated over post scoring and three pointers in Utah.

If I were to discover I'm wrong about Vonleh, It'd get me a lot more excited for the draft. He's the dude I'm scared of the Jazz picking right now.

Same.

Far and away the least amount of fire (something the Jazz desperately need) of anyone in the top 10.

The Locke video is a pretty fair analysis if you want the quick and dirty. Watch Vonleh guard on the perimeter at the end, and how his hand size allows him to rip and control a rebound (not just tip it around). Things like that make or break you as a big in this league. Kanter couldn't do it, and why we were -2000 with him on the court.

How does this help the case for Vonleh? Mute Locke and you're left with a highlight reel of turn overs and his failure to finish at the rim. He can definitely shoot for his size. His D is meh ok against much less athletic competition than he will face in the NBA. I see nothing to be excited about in Vonleh. The Bosh comps are ricockulous, imo.

Because Powerman5000 has album after album of quality songs, lol. SPYDER(lol again) should be thankful he is a one hit wonder and that anyone is willing to pay money to hear him sing it. Would you even know who he was without that song? Doubtful

Well he has good footwork defensively, he tested well athletically but he has trouble using it. He's a good scorer and he has a lot of upside.
But the thing is that Gordon is WAY better defensively and always will be. He's extremely athletic and knows how to use it. He's not a very good shooter but with a good shooting coach he can get better just like Kawaii did. He has a lot of upside as well.

Another thing to note, I notice in interviews that Vonleh seems really mellow and nonchalant and that makes me think he doesn't care ad much as he should. Not saying that he doesn't care but will he actually develop his game to the best of his ability? I don't see that happening.
With Gordon, like this guy said at my work, he's a winner. Seriously, Gordon is gonna go in everyday hungry wanting to improve his game. This is really the guy the Jazz need to take. No questions asked.

Ive read stories that fly directly in the face of this, I read once that he missed a 3 at the end of an AAU game in which his team lost by 2. After the game he took full blame for the loss, and immediately wanted to go work on his shooting and basically for a day or 2 you couldnt pry him out of the gym, he was so mad at himself. ill try to find the exact story, it was something crazy though, I think he practiced for the 3rd time that day at 8pm and then tried to get his AAU coach to re-open the gym again at 11pm.
