NON-JAZZ NBA PLAYOFF thread

I don't think Craig would have liked being traded here and it would not have gone well. I also doubt he gets minutes here regardless based on Snyder's history. We picked up a supposedly amazing wing defender who didn't play and got cut as well this season.
Ya and I mean if Craig's skill is defense and playing hard then I'm pretty sure Forrest could do that.

Game 2 Craig had zero points, zero rebounds, zero assists, and 2 fouls in his 11 minutes.
I have no idea how the suns still managed to win.
I don't know where the jazz or any team could find a guy like that.

Fact is that Craig comes in and plays hard for 10 minutes per game and plays good defense. That's a good thing. I don't think it's that hard to find though. Oni could play hard for 10 minutes per game. So could forest. Occasionally each of those guys could score a few points and grab a few rebounds too. Most players in the NBA could achieve that lofty goal.

Game three. 1-4 from the field. 4 points. 1 rebound. I know, I know. He played amazing defense that game I'm sure and shut down his man. What he does is simply unmeasurable statistically. It's too impressive to quantify so it can't show up in measurable way. It's truly and literally off the charts.

Plus I mean in that game 4 defensive battle when the suns held the clippers to 80 points we all know that Craig made a huge difference. Sure his stats of literally zero everything except 1 foul weren't good but his defense was the reason the clippers only scored 80 points.
TORREY CRAIG PLAYED 19 SECONDS IN GAME 4 AND WAS A NEGATIVE 5. Lol. Let's just overlook that game though. Such a integral part of the team yet one of the best coaches in the league only played him 19 SECONDS in an extremely close defensive battle. Yet somehow the suns still won and had their best defensive game of the entire playoffs.

He played 3 minutes in game 1 against the Lakers. 4 minutes in game 2.

2 things I noticed going through all the playoff games this year for the suns regarding Craig:
1. For the most part, the closer the game the less minutes Craig plays (weird that suns coach would play him less in close games because he is so important in determining wins and losses).
2. He seems to have very little impact on much of anything. Some games he basically didn't play at all and the suns won. Some games he played lots and the suns lost. And vice versa. Some games he played pretty well and the suns lost. Some games he played like crap and the suns won and vice versa.

He left Denver because they didn’t give him a deal. He was upset they didn’t offer him a contract. It’s one thing to have an opinion... it’s another to pick **** out of the sky.
How could they have not given him a deal? He's freaking Torrey Craig for gods sake.

Okay now do Niang...

The bucks had Craig in their roster THIS SEASON!
How in the world did they let him get away? Oh I bet he was traded for some really good stuff. No way they would let a player of that caliber go for nothing.
(Checks the Google).
That Cash Considerations guy must be really really good. Strange name though.

I'm learning so much about Craig lol. If nothing else, this discussion has taught me a lot about a guy that I knew nothing about, so thanks guys.

I will never get the 30 minutes of my life back that I dedicated to Torrey Craig research lol.

Moving on.....

Oh, I have never argued that niang was better this season in the playoffs than Craig. If all people were saying is, "Craig might have done better than niang for us this year in the playoffs" then I would have said "I agree, he might have" and we all would have moved on.

@fishonjazz is making some very valid points about Craig. I don't think he is the ultimate solution like some are making him out to be.

Maybe part of the solution is to play guys who we actually have. Why not see if Brantley or others can make any difference?

They signed Jamychal Green and already had Millsap those guys are better players. Green in particular is a guy I wanted. They didn’t have anymore budget for Craig.

You are being so dumb about this. Craig isn’t an all star. He’s just a solid rotation wing... one with some size who plays hard. We needed a guy in that mold and he was free. He would have been much better than Niang... EVEN IF HE DIDNT MAKE SHOTS. He’s currently making more shots than Niang. He’s scoring 13 pts and getting 9 rebounds per 36 in the playoffs... shooting 44% from three. If he is key in winning one playoff game per series then he has done his job.

Let's say the jazz have Craig on their roster instead of Brantley or Morgan or oni or whatever.

I'm sure that quin would have benched niang, the guy that he trusted all season long and that he seems to really really like and has been learning the system for multiple years, the Craig.

Because we all know that quin isn't rigid with his rotations and makes more on the fly adjustments game by game and even in the middle of a game than any other coach in the league.

There isn’t one solution... this is another trap we fall into... “player X is not the answer”. So why get player X? If player X is part of the answer and he costs nothing to get... then you ducking get him. There is a reason he’s available for NOTHING! It’s because he’s flawed... but his strengths might help in a matchup or two. If he was the answer he’d cost more. He was a good enough answer that he makes us better. Does he flip the series? No idea.

Read my most recent post in here. You actually thing quin would play Craig over niang? Lolz

The way Niang was playing in the playoffs he would have been benched... I really don’t have much doubt about it.
