I try hard, but I don't find reasons to like our coach... or the Ainges... or RS...
No one cares about the NBA Cup. It’s just different colored courts. The only reason it isn’t seen as a failure is because compared to everything else Silver has done, its been neutral as opposed to awful. We probably get decimated regardless, but if the NBA wants us to give a **** about this ******** Cup then maybe they shouldn’t be scheduling us to play a group game at the very end of a long road trip
I mean, it was a G-league game at that point. What happens in G-league doesn't really matter.Cody, Slo Mo, Harkless and Ace looked decent taking the garbage out. I wonder if Hardy will blow his top and call guys out by name?
Offensively, sure. On the D Ace was completely lost on many possessions. Like suddenly looking up and realizing his man is there and he's 10 feet in the wrong spot. But can't ask that much from a 19yo rookie on D. And if he was on a serious team, there would be multiple teammates out there calling to him where to be, coaching him when the ball's out of play, showing how to play in particular situations. On this team everyone's on their own. It's a second very good game by Ace in a row. He has been doing so many little things right lately: defending, rebounding, boxing out, making right passes... I feel that Ace has never been coached properly and neglected making the right plays and giving consistent effort in favor of being a star. Bailey has improved a lot compared to his very first games and I expect that he will start breaking out soon.
Hardy is still quite young and has a lot to learn as a coach, but to say that he doesn’t know defense is pretty wild. If we had OKC’s roster instead, would we still be struggling defensively? We wouldn’t.Is it possible Hardy just doesn’t know how to coach defense? I know Kesslers out right now but even with him we were still the worst defense in the league the past couple of years.
Lol. Did you even watch the game? Both teams pulled their starters early.Did Lauri got benched or why he didn't play 4th quarter at all only 21min today so what has happened?
If / when Lauri has looked disinterested and passive / phlegmatic on the court then benching has been right move.
Every guy on thr Jazz roster needs own minutes
and bring something to the table no matter how much you got paid or are you allstar or not.
He's not the personality asking for a trade, especially when he loves everything in Salt Lake City and has great relationship with Hardy. All star will be a pipe dream. The team is too bad, and with Kessler gone for season the team is way too bad for Lauri to have energy too keep up great efficiency. As an off ball force, his breathing room now is close to zero as Jazz has no real NBA calibre center to help out, nor 3pt shooting. It is what it is.Lauri’s goal this season is probably to make the All-Star Game. I wonder how games like this, where our young team can’t compete and he’s taken out early (with 12 points), affect his motivation. If this keeps happening, would he start thinking about asking to be traded?
It certainly doesn’t help having the most unathletic team in the league. Nurk, slow-mo, Love, Minivan, and a few un-named youngsters. Not easy being Hardy, particularly when you consider what happened in Boston after he left and how he was positioned for the throne there.Hardy is still quite young and has a lot to learn as a coach, but to say that he doesn’t know defense is pretty wild. If we had OKC’s roster instead of ours, would we still be struggling defensively? We wouldn’t.

A little unfair to post Collier after injury and he was thrown to the Wolves (literally) last night, don’t you think?Top 3 +/- players for the Jazz this year:
Kessler (2.8)
Harkless (2.4)
Williams (1.0)
Bottom 3 +/- players for the Jazz this year:
Collier (-38)
Bailey (-10.9)
Nurkic (-6.0)
Not unfair, none of it means anything.A little unfair to post Collier after injury and he was thrown to the Wolves (literally) last night, don’t you think?
Well maybe not to you and me but it could be misinterpreted by someone not realizing that he only played that one game. Perhaps you saw my earlier post but it kinda irks me that Hardy chose to start him in a game of that magnitude on the road (no real team workouts) and with zero minutes in the other away games leading up.Not unfair, none of it means anything.

Well it certainly did for the Wolves. I watched the Wolves feed and it was talked about ad infinitum. It’s a point’s based system - they weren’t piling the points on for nothing! That game had zero magnitude.
