Nah.
If Lauri was 22 years old and playing like he is then literally not one single person would consider trading Lauri.
I know you were joking but there is a big difference in Key or Ace or sensabaugh or whoever playing like an all star and Lauri playing like an all star.
No **** lol. If Lauri was 22 and playing like this we'd be talking about him being one of the greatest offensive players of all time.

The good thing about trying to win games is that we can see where our true gaps are. If we are going to try and be good next year it is important to understand what holes we need to try and fill in the offseason.

- I love Keyonte, but he's a guy you have to try and hide on defense, and we don't have enough good defenders to do that. We need to put +++ defenders around him and Lauri or we're going to struggle against good offensive teams.
- I love Collier, but if teams scout him at all they'll just play off him. The offense is super rough when he's not surrounded by shooters.
- I love Cody, but the dude clearly needs some more time in the G-League to practice getting shots up. He needs to be taking 18fga/game without any fear of consequences.
I'm shocked that you love Cody.

Exactly. No one wants to trade key after looking like a star. Quite the opposite.

It is about the little things. Cody closing out without fouling. Cody proper rotating on D.
Ya those would be some things that I see that are encouraging which is a nice, but a long way from making him a player that I love.

I personally think he mostly sucks and don't even like him despite him doing a couple of things well

I'm still holding out hope. He's our only rookie contract player outside of Kessler who can defend. He actually moves his feet, is generally in the right place, and his length bothers people. If he can add some more strength and start taking contact through his chest he will be a good defender in the league. I think this is likely. If he increases his activity and starts to show some ability to make a difference off ball he'll be a really good defender in the league. I think this is less likely. Now the very unlikely thing is that he is good enough offensively to be on the court and provide defense, but that's the dream.

Offensively he just needs to be a very good wide open 3pt shooter. It very clearly might not happen, but I think he's already made a lot of progress (his misses are much closer this year). I think he'll be able to be a good connective piece, off ball cutter, and attack closeouts at some point if the defense has to respect his shot. That player is a guy that can get minutes on a good team.

I think we mostly agree.
We both think he should be playing in the g league right now.

Yes, agreed. I think he's clearly made some improvements over the offseason, but he gets 0 usage in the NBA. He needs to be forced reps to get comfortable/confident.
