What's new

Nah, the number one reason was that OKC just put it in another gear. Cody was bad, but he also just happened to play when OKC locked in for the second half. I'll hear out Cody as the number two reason, but that might be masking how bad several others were playing during that stretch.
Nah, it's mostly Cody.

And to elaborate, it's Cody and Collier. Having two of the worst shooters in the NBA on the court at once is rough to watch for spacing. Lauri having to play with these bums is malpractice, but I get it cuz tank

- Never forget there were quite a few people here who liked the Cody Williams pick due to his "pedigree". What BS. The guy sucked in college and he's sucked in the NBA every day since. Personally, I don't want to see him play ever again. It has to stop. His presence on the court is insulting and doesn't bring a single thing to the table. "He just needs strength"? No, he just needs to go away. I don't care if he spends the rest of his career counting all the millions of dollars he stole, just get him out of my sight.
There are still people here that defend the pick based on "pedigree". The NBA isn't breeding dogs ffs. And fully agree on all of this.

Why they limiting Ace's playing minutes? He should be getting 30 minutes per game at least. It's not like this Jazz team going to making the playoffs or anything. Let the rook play more damn minutes. He only played one 30 minutes game, which he scored 21. Let him play more, so he can learn from experience.

Why the rush? They are trying to do slow and steady. It's working.

No, but a lot of it is based off drafting the really tall guys wiht really long arms.

No one could have seen Cody being this bad. Even the people who didnt like him didnt see this coming.

It was about not rushing, he wouldn’t already have games this season where he played high 20 and low 30 minutes.
He played his regular minutes, he just wasnt in towards the last 6 minutes or so because the game was over and he's not in the scrub unit.

Hardy said they want to play him in 5 minute stints so he can focus on playing good basketball and not have fatigue set in and lead to bad habits.

Agree. No need to rush Ace. He'll be on the court more and more as the season progresses. He was a bit of a mystery to me before the draft. But he’s been a joy to watch. He’s still a baby, but I’m pumped to see what he can do for us down the road.

Exactly. And Ace started both halves and then the 2nd and 4th quarters as well, clearly by design. And played those 5-6 mins. I'll trust Hardy (or any half-competent basketball coach) that he knows that this pattern is the best for Ace right now, and certainly better than something more random just so he gets to 25-30 mins.
