Whiteside - Very Whiteside game. Rebounded everything, had a nice bully ball moment and block, lazy screen attempts, out of position a lot on defense.

Hughes - Had good looks, made good reads with the ball (two alley oop passes), didn't make many of the good looks unfortunately.

O'Neale - Who? This guy played?

Mitchell - This guy really sucks.

Conley - See O'Neale

Doke - Awful, didn't look like he belonged on the court with everyone else. Nice dunks and block, but was getting schooled every play on defense and looked lost on offense for the most part.

Paschall - Similar game to Hughes. Lots of great looks but didn't make them. Made good decisions against closeouts and had a nice cut in the first half. Really looks the part physically.

Clarkson - See Mitchell

Butler - Had decent looks in the first half but didn't make them. Looked very small and physically overwhelmed by Murray and White. Took over the game once backups were in and showed great skill on offense and some playmaking on defense. 2 steals and charge taken.

Forrest - Very active on defense in the first half, made a lot of plays. Made great passes all night, very patient in the PnR. Unfortunately can't put the ball in the basket. Only scoring weapon is his floater.

Oni - The most telling thing is that he's behind Hughes, Butler, and Forrest for minutes.
Bolden?

Didn't pay too much attention to him. I remember him badly blowing a defensive coverage (I think in the first half) and had a nice lob finish from Hughes. Don't think any of the Exhibit 10's have a shot at the 15th spot.
Too bad, I like his size and agility. Not often you see a guy that big get a pick in short minutes.

From the box it looks like Teague didn't do much.

Can two-ways play in the playoffs this year? People were mentioning Forrest playing good D in the first half. How good are we talking? I’d like to see us develop him as a guy who can get perimeter D minutes rather than just minutes at PG.
I believe I read they will not be.

It's unfair to judge anyone too much in this kind of situation, but it wasn't promising. He looked very small and was dribbling a lot. Maybe he'd look better if he's wasn't just playing in the JV lineups, but it's going to be very hard for him to make it in this league because he's so slight.

Gobert and Ingles were reportedly out because of rest needed because of Olympic duties. Wonder if Oni's Olympics plays a role in his apparent place in the lineup tonight. ... Probably not?

I hadn't considered that, good call. If I had to speculate I'd say it has more to do with his position on his team, but it's hard to know. If he was at the top of the non-rotation guys like he was last year I'd think that Quin would give him his 12 minutes with the main players in real lineups we might see instead of just strictly with the JV team.

SO I just got back from the daughter's softball game. Is the season in shambles now? Is it time to hit the panic button?
