(Maybe) Svi is the place holder for Lauri so that the Jazz don't have to rejigger their rotations. If Lauri plays, Svi doesn't. 2nd team remains intact.

The Jazz lineups change and overlap enough that there isn't a true 2nd unit right now. I'd understand playing a few 2 and 3-man combinations that work well, but I don't see how Svi works well with anyone.

Can't argue against this at this point. But it seems to me that Svi played something of this Lauri-place-holder role last year, so I thought that maybe that's what's going on again here in the pre-season.

Nurkic looked good against Wemby so far but really bad with defensive rebounds. Ace is forcing things and constantly ends up in bad places with the ball.
