What's new

Game Thread Oct 31, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Grizzlies

Added to Calendar: 10-31-22

The thing that surprises me is how much space the Jazz's perimeter shooters have been getting. They had wide open looks a lot tonight, and I'm not sure why defenses are collapsing on our drivers like they are. Lauri had wide open looks. Beasley had wide open looks. Conley had wide open looks. Jordan had a couple. On and on. Jazz made 19 3s again tonight, and I'm not sure half of them were even contested.
Ball movement has been excellent. A lot of unique actions and with Kessler out of the lineup they are running a lot more 5 out stuff.

because now we have actual good rim finishers that would draw defenders attention closer to the basket.

remember teams going small on us to close the space for our shooters because they had no respect for our ability to finish inside?

now if they don't close out, it'd lead to easy buckets inside for guys like Lauri/vando/olynyk.

vando averaged 6 assists over the last two games simply because defenders had to come over to stop him at the rim, leaving one of our shooters wide open.

you shoot 2's so you can take better 3's.

during Quin's, opponents already knew that you were only looking to shoot 3's, which made it extremely easy to stop.

we are certainly a more well-rounded team than we were the last few seasons.

besides good shooting, we now have actual low post threats, multi-positional defenders and big playmakers who can consistently find backdoor cutters. making our game hard to counter.

I’m sooooo happy for Clarkson, on the bench all these years and not finishing games, now he’s starting and finishing games, and rewarding the org for it. I can’t remember the last time I watched him have that bad a shooting night and it didn’t hurt the team. He literally shot 3-14 and was +14. Dude is changing his game and playing hard on both ends. His shot was off so he goes out and gets 7 boards and 7 assists. We saw flashes last year, but he’s putting it together this year.

I like @Handlogten's Heros, too. Dude is ultra smart. His bball takes are top notch. Well, other than that down payment fiasco. We both agreed its all in fun.
Pelinka may not honor down payments but ms. Hearsky does.

All love homie!

Look we will still get Wemby… after winning 5 straight titles he will want to ditch the pelicans and sign for the MLE to learn under the mentorship of 5 time mvp Lauri Markanaan.

I mean, we did have the number one offense in the NBA last year under Quin with a 117 rating. I'm not sure where we ranked the season before when we had the best record in the league, but I'm pretty sure we were in the top 3 or 4.
