What's new

*OFFICIAL* 17 on 26, Donovan Mitchell is the Monta Ellis watch thread

Mitch has obvious offensive efficiency problems. You can choose to bury your head in sand if you like
You can choose to focus on one aspect of basketball.
I will look at the whole picture.

Ncoloradojazz gonna ncoloradojazz

How how about an All NBA guy and DPOY ? He alone makes a team good. And all those vets on the team counted for something. They all make a good team, Mitch just adds to all of that. If he ended up on some team like Suns he'd be poor mans Booker at this point in time.
Not a very good point.
Anyone on the Suns is gonna struggle to win games.
Not anyone on the jazz will get the 5th seed in the west though.

If Mitchell ended up on a team like Toronto he would have the best efficiency in the league and be the MVP.

You can't really believe in the underlined BS you just typed.

And Jazz are playoff team if any decent top 30 scorer added to that team of the past season. Seriously, 53% TS is not good at all.

You can't believe that his true shooting percentage would be the same if he had better scorers in his supporting cast.

You just post exactly like him. In other words you seem to be a fan of a different team than the rest of us.

Because I don't think that DM is some basketball god? like the fan boys do. The numbers back me up. And short of some significant improvement, the numbers going to place DM as the 4th best player on the team in terms of wins behind Rudy, Conley and Joe if everyone's relatively healthy. One the main problems for DM is that on top inefficiency he's lagging behind on defense, especially being an undersized SG.

By the same logic:

Mitchell was the main reason of most of our wins. His win/loss split numbers are astounding. If plays bad the rest of the team can't pick up the slack and the coach has no plan B. The team must improve or they'll continue to disappoint when Donovan doesn't bail them out.

To get back on the serious side, it is a fair point. DM shot Utah out of more games last season than any other high volume, inefficient peer.

When I created this thread, I can't remember who I was annoyed with more between DM and QS for allowing him to continue chucking. His shot selection was quite ridiculous at times and QS did nothing on camera to stop it. No pulling him out, no scolding... Maybe things were said behind the sceen, who knows. Things improved after this thread and I hope they improve more so DM can truly lead a team to glory rather than just being one solid piece of a solid team. And lol @fishonjazz and others making it out like Gobert, Ingles, Favors, KK, Rubio, O'Neale, and Crowder were all a bunch of scrubs lucky to share the court with god Donovan who carried them to 50 wins. That was a pretty decent squad.
