Official 2014 draft prediction thread with rep bets

Jazz get Jabari. That is the one thing I am sure of.

Last year I was sure they would get gobert. And they got him. I had a bunch they would get Burke, and they got him. It's happening. The chosen Tongan is going to grace our presence this week.

Chad ford just said he has heard that the Cavs were shopping the 4and 12 last night to see what vets they could get if they were to pull the trigger. We are not moving up.

I take it.

Bump of this thread for those who need to pay up. I just did.
Have to say there were a few surprises:
1. Caboclo. Did ANYONE, ANYONE ever have him on a draft board?
2. Gordon going #4. Didn't see that one coming.

Embiid...well, I knew I was taking a chance. I figured he would go to a team that had a couple of high picks, just didn't count on Philly using their #3 on him. And if Philly passed, I saw him sliding down to the Lakers.

FYI, Kevin Love isn't worth a #1 pick in this draft (or most drafts).

I'll bet:
1) Aaron Gordon won't go top 6.
2) Randle will get drafted before Gordon.
3) Vonleh will go top 5. He's the LMA of this draft.
4) Jazz will offer Philly #5, #23 and Philly's choice of Burke, Burks or GSW '17 1st to move up to #3. Philly will say no.
5) Jazz will draft Vonleh or Exum at #5.
6) Word will come out sooner or later that the Jazz didn't feel Smart was a "real point guard."

I whiffed on the first three. Ready to pay up.

I'll throw some more on here....

* I'll bet Zach Lavine, James Young and Doug McDermott all go in the lottery. Not a big reach there.

* I'll bet Nurkic goes Top 15.

* I'll bet they don't have Shane Battier doing stupid 'Welcome to the NBA interviews' this year.

I basically got these right, with the exception of Nurkic going 16 and Young 17.

I'll make another prediction ---

The Jazz will try pretty hard (offer #23, #35 and/or maybe GSW '17) to get back into the draft in the 10 - 15 range to draft a shooter--James Young, Nic Stauskas, Gary Harris, Rodney Hood, Doug McDermott.

This is moot, as the Jazz got their shooter at 23.
