What do you guys think of Jerone Jordan as a second rounder? His stats looked pretty impressive, but I have never seen him play.

I already threw down a DARFT dutchie. I'm afraid I have won the internetz.

Patterson is a good choice if we are looking for a Booze replacement. He needs better rebounding IQ, but he is very mature and was one of the more civil characters on the KU team.

Saw him play in Huntington, and he was a beast among the kids there. But of course, it's West Virginia.
 
Uh, we have to draft a center, we already have Milsap and AK for PF. It has been proven we can't win without one, but more importantly this will be our only chance to get one for a long time.
That leaves Aldrich and Whiteside, take your pick, because I'm pretty sure they are 1 and 2 on KOC's list of realistic choices.
Aldrich is the safe pick, he should have no problems blocking 2-3 shots a game with that 9'3" wing span. I dont see him ever averaging over 12 points a game though.
Whiteside is the risky pick. His amazing wingspan and good leaping ability could have him matching Camby type block numbers (3-4). He also has more offensive potential than Aldrich. However, if he's a head case and lazy the NBA will eat him alive.

1.5 in college, in the Big East, which doesn't scream "not a shot blocker at all." Not much of one, maybe. BPG isn't an indicator of post defense, though. What I've read, a weakness is interior post D, which indeed is a problem.

Seems like if the mind is willing, then learning post D is easier than all the other stuff he currently can do.

1.5 blocks per 35 minutes. There were 75 guys who had more blocked shots last season than Monroe regardless of height, position, or minutes. I can't find blocks per minute, but you can bet it's a lot worse than 75th. There's not way around it. The guy doesn't block shots. All I want to know is why.
 
I hope we trade up or package the pick for a veteran. I'm not crazy about anyone at 9. Patterson is proven and had three good years against legit competition. That's why I would draft him. If we draft Davis, I will scream. And whomever we draft must be a good defender and not undersized.

Fair enough. Another thing I saw was that the offensive system he played in really affected how his offensive game looked, both for the good and the bad. I wonder if there was a defensive scheme that did likewise. He's not terribly athletic, so maybe he was asked to keep his feet on the floor and keep his hands up? I wish there were some defensive highlights to look at.


Oh, and looking it was 1.5 per 34 minutes, not 35. :p
