The interference where the attacker made the header pass for the trailer was a correct call. You could see from different angles that he was affecting the goalies possibilities to deflect the ball.

The penalty was flopping obvi but Croatia would have been very lucky to defend the draw. They really had problems keeping the ball and get structured offense going. Always hail mary passes and forced fast breaks.

Disagree... I felt that Croatia controlled the game and only when bad calls went against them did Brazil get momentum and look like a good squad.... But that first half Croatia was winning the mid field creating Havoc for Brazil's back line!!!

Also there was a no call right before the third goal which allowed the counter attack...

Croatia was hosed by the refs...

See that's not a gray area call. If you watch Championsleague on a regular basis. Like weekly multiple games...Then you know this is a call that's happening multiple times every game. Within the "restricted area" if in doubt you'll whistle in favor of the goalie.

Plus 70% ball possession for brazil means that Croatia dominated ****. Brazilian defense simply is kind herpaderp and ****s up. But that was to be expected. Nuttin else.

the guys calling the match disagree. they thought it was the wrong call and seemed quite sure about.

to me, it was a 50/50 call and could have gone either way.

Except it was 58%-42% still favoring Brazil but with a hand full of devastating calls you expect Croatia to loose ball possession...

Croatia had a very simple game plan, strong defense and fast breaks to try to score. It worked on Marcelo's own goal, but after that Brazil controlled the match.

The penalty was bogus on my opinion, but it's not Fred's fault for flopping, the ref on the other hand is the guilty one here. Flopping in soccer is pretty much part of the game and it's the refs job to see and make the right calls.

Having said that, I think Brazil would have won the game even without the penalty kick.

1 game down, 6 to go!

P.S. Did the U.S. media mentioned the crowd cursing the Brazilian President during the game?

No they didn't mention about the Cursing of the President...

Let's be honest you can't be happy with how Brazil played yesterday... If they played like that verse any formable team they lose that game even with the bias refing!!!

The German commentator said it was the right call ;)
Also former UEFA and FIFA referee Urs Meier, who refereed the WC 2002 semi final between Germany and South Korea, the 2002 Championsleague final and 5 consecutive Championsleague semi finals during his refereeing career said the call was right. To bring the Steve Javie argument.

It actually was 62-38 overall, with it being 68-32 in the first half, Brazil winning 60% of the duels, also attempting 451 passes, of which 85% reached the target, against 281 passes for Croatia, who completed only 78%.

But yeah Croatia controlled the game ;)

Want to add I'm happy the game between Mexiko and Cameroon is more entertaining. Rooting for Cameroon for basketball reasons ;)

Mexico getting screwed by the refs now
