If Log watched the second half of that Germany/Ghana game, and he still maintains that soccer is boring-- then the dude is absolutely hopeless.
 
Still OKish with most of Germany's performance.
Mustafi won't play again. 1st half Germany plays exclusively over the right wing, Mustafi comes in, every attack that isn't through the middle is over left instead.
In the future Lahm will play in the defense when a defender has to be substituted.

I also see parallels with the Spurs. Superior spacing, unselfishness, high IQ, anticipation. Defensively horrible in transition, else utilizing size.

I think we can beat most defenses consistently, no matter who. But we gotta improve the defense and unforced errors must be eliminated to have a chance to win it all.

lolol blaming Germany's defensive woes on a single player. The team was in shambles throughout the 2nd half until the two vets checked in. Lost every 50/50 ball, let in several crosses in from the right Ghanaian wing (opposite Mustafi's side, who was at fault for the first Ghanaian goal). They're lucky to eke out a draw here, and every self-respected German fan should know that. Ghana clobbered them in the second half.

Really ugly game from Germany. Repeating a similar performance one more time this tournament will swiftly result in their elimination.
 
I can't wait for the US to kick Portugal's *** so I can neg rep all you fools who are cheering against us.

Hell, I may even neg rep y'all already.

I didn't blame Mustafi for defense, which I could have as well, as he made a huge mistake which led to the 1:1. But I blame him for killing the offense on his wing.

Also I think we saw different games. Ghana ran a couple fastbreaks and they were mostly initiated by Lahm's foolish passes.
Difference is that I'd be shocked if Lahm has another bad game. So he should go back into the defense, Schweinsteiger should start as a defensive midfielder if he's healthy enough to play 90 minutes.
 
Anyone else notice that the theme song sucks? You know, the one with pit, jlo, and Claudia Milk?

The one for Pepsi is definitely a lot more Brazilian.

I don't understand why they included some sucky American/Cuban artists to do the theme. Brazil has a number of talented artists. Keep the theme songs based in and sung by the host country.

Pit and Jlo shouldn't have been involved in the opening ceremonies. They should have had Claudia and Ivete Sangalo sing. I guess they could have thrown in one of the many eye-candy pop/country singers into the mix too.

The World Cup theme song sucks.

Which is why football and basketball are still the best. NFL on Fox and MNF along with nba on nbc are the best themes in the history of mankind.
