Al Jefferson is an inefficient offensive player with absolutely no understanding of or feel for the game. He's not a difference maker. And he makes $29mil the next two seasons. A waste.

I think Hayward should do what he did at LA. Be a beast and pass to others once everyone on the other team starts jumping on his back, start a Favors and Hayward combo, let al jefferson do what he do and don't even give it to Miles even if he's open cause all you would hear is a bunch of clanking off the rim echoing through the court.

Well, a step back for the rookies. Favors had a very good 1st half, then just stood around in the 2nd. Hayward couldn't shoot straight. And can we declare the Millsap at SF experiment a disaster? He can guard Artest. He can't match up against the quicker SF's in the league. Not that Wallace is that quick, but he does have some moves.

I kind of wish Corbin was just the interim coach. I think the Jazz need a fresh set of eyes and a major overhaul of the offense, not just minor tweaks that Corbin said he was going to make. I also think a new set of coaches would fairly evaluate the players. I'd start Favors and Hayward and bring Millsap off the bench. I'm also not sold on Jefferson. The offense just stops when he gets the ball. Jazz should have been pushing the ball up the court. Instead, the tempo was slow and slower.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I've said in this forum numerous times that Corbin is not the guy you want to go with long term but have been shot down everytime with comments like "give him a chance", "he lost Deron", "give him a full season next year", etc, etc.

The same with Hayward's draft pick, I guess only time will tell...

I'm with ya scorp. Jefferson has given me a lot to like this year. Ability to pass out of the post is night and day compared to the beginning of the season, even though there is a lot of work to do there still. He is also having a career year in blocks. It seems like he has let up a bit since we were out of the playoffs, but that's the only knock I have on him. Al is exceeding the expectations I had for him when he came, and has shown that he is committed to improvement.

This is nothing against sap. He gave us an average year for him which is fine. Down in blocks and rebounds. Up in ppg and assists.

My friend said to me at the game last night: "Why the hell does he put his hands up on his face. That's really stupid." I guess he hadn't seen it before. It's stupid how it has started catching on. I swear I saw some college guys doing it during the conference and ncaa tournaments. They look dumb.

I really wanted to beat Portland last night to help push them into the 7 spot and face the Lakers. I hate portland.

Harris had his stat line but I felt he did not run the offense if that makes sense. It seems we had more people involved against the lakers, more balanced scoring and allowed Hayward to drive & dish.

On a positive note, Hayward was 8-8 from the line with a very quite 10 pts. He still played good D, shots did not fall, but he did get to the line.

I wish we would have had the Hayward drive , dish to Favors more.....


Anyway, based on quotes after the game seems like team has shut it down so none of this analysis matters much.

I really want a shakeup with the offense, too. Harris isn't a vision point, he's a havoc point. He's still a good player, but he'd be better in a Spurs type drive and kick offense where his speed off the dribble becomes a weapon. Al is not the ideal passing big man in that set, but he's made strides in that department. And yeah, we don't have the shooters just yet so we couldn't convert completely over. But we could at least do a better job getting guys open looks with Devin driving more. At the very least, install the corner 3 into the offense.

Well said. He is like watching a pick up truck with a manual transmission trundle down a pot-hole filled road driven by a 16 year old girl with no experience working the clutch.

Should have overpaid Carlos if nothing more than saving the torture my eyeballs endure watching him clunk around the court.

I agree I think Harris coming back greatly reduced the touches for Hayward.

Millsap and Wallace played the 4 the whole night. Portland without Camby goes small.
