The defense wasn't amazing or anything, but Portland made a ****load of difficult contested shots.
 
Meh. Pre-season. We'll get better. Incorporating new players isn't easy especially players that will demand minutes by their experience level alone.

This is a good point. And to illustrate it, this image should partly explain why the blazers looked a lot more in sync than we did at times. They have the most consistent group of players from last year to this year. Of course, we are second on the list, but most of those lineups tonight were together for the first time.

I enjoyed the game even though the second half was pretty meh. It was just great to see Jazz basketball back. The start of the season is here.

Positives:
-Got off to a great start with starters
-Hayward and Favors were the two best players on the court
-Bolomboy and Neto in garbage time looked good. 13-0 run.
-Lyles had some positives on offense, was aggressive.
-Exum made it through the game, and had good form on 3pt shot

Negatives:
-Defense was pretty bad most of the game. Interior and Deep.
-3 pt shooting overall wasnt there. (there were good looks though)
-Cohesion. Damn Portland plays well together, and maximizes their talent. We need to get there.
-Joe Johnson. It'll come for Joe, and the vets. It may take well into the regular season for them to find their way with us.
 
Favors and Gordon looked ready to go.

Gobert looked less interested in holding on to the ball than last year. He lost an early one and immediately started complaining to the ref.

Hood was not ready.

Exum got some well earned burn. His inside game though is a long, long, long way away.
