If his range were the only question, I wouldn't be nearly so nervous. Wynn has shown a propensity for panicking early in a play. He makes poor decisions under pressure. And to top it off, our O line is not reliable. This is a bad recipe.

I agree that Heaps has not exactly set college football on fire. But he is a good player, and has the potential to just go bananas.

BYU has it's weaknesses, for sure, but I feel like it's going to come down which QB can get it done. Utah MUST pressure Heaps. We have a strong front D7. We need to make Heaps sweat and eat turf early and often.

Even accomplishing that, it merely gives Wynn a chance. He has to step up. And so far, I haven't seen anything that makes me believe he will.

Edit: All that being said, I am not betting against the Utes. They can win. I'm just nervous...
I more than agree with you about Wynn. I think he is pretty horrible in every facet of the game right now. He hasn't done anything that gives me any confidence at all in his game. I just think Utah is good enough everywhere else to beat BYU anyway. We almost won at USC with Wynn at his absolute worst.

So considering that, you almost have to favor Utah against a non BCS team that obviously could not handle playing against the big boys every week (lol). Utah is one of those big time BCS schools that BYU couldn't handle week in and week out. BYU is one of those schools that Utah schedules because it's an easy win, lol.

Okay, smack talk aside, I am serious when I say Wynn is garbage, but Utah is good enough to beat BYU even with Wynn being garbage. If Wynn finds his game, look out. That probably won't happen though, so look for Utah to be good enough but not completely dominating.

What would (have) been great is if BYU and Utah met in the Vegas bowl. Had BYU stayed MWC, that would be a very likely thing to happen, with some regularity, even.

Hey Bronco, check out David Locke's twitter. He is claiming Utah has the better offense, better running game, and better passing game than BYU. Not that David Locke knows everything, but it was nice to see a so called "expert" using some weird statistical formula agree with me.

Wynn is bad, no doubt. But Utah is so much stronger pretty much across the board that they make up for it.

Whose passing game was better - via play pts - - BYU (.56 play pts per) Utah (.62 play pts per)

Whose Running game was better -- via play pts - BYU (.30 play pts per) Utah (.70 ply pts per)

BYU had a better success rate on plays (39% to 35%) both poor, but Utah had plays that grabbed yardage chunks BYU didn't

Whose offense is better - via play pts - UTAH - BYU had 38.25 ply pts in 67 plays (.48 per) - Utah had 46.25 ply pt in 70 plays (.60)

Dez Anderson had 9 targets and had 14 play points for 1.56 per play -- Can BYU's corners handle Anderson and Christopher

Utah Running Game -- Average Play Points per play - 1st half (.37) 2nd half (1.13) Over 1 is amazing means on avg every play is a success

Strange Truth - Even with his lame arm Jordan Wynn threw downfield v. USC much more than Heaps did v. Texas

Wynn sucks, but it is still a team game, and Utah has the better team.

Salty, if BYU wins will you agree to not make any anti-BYU posts for at least a year?

Salty, don't do it unless Conan agrees to not be an ******* if BYU loses.
Yeah I'm with Numberica there. I'm fine with agreeing to something if BYU wins, but there has to be something in return if Utah wins. Nobody makes a bet that they can lose something but can't possibly win anything.

I'm totally on board with Conan agreeing to not post any anti-Utah stuff for a year if BYU loses. :-)

That would be a fun one, i'd go for sure. But Utah vs. TCU wouldn't be bad either.

So here is a question for you BYU and Utah Fans....

What if the game was the 1st game of the season every year?

I got thinking about this and how much better the offseason from football would be. It would be trash talk all offseason... I for one would love to see it happen but doubt it ever does.
