Official MLB 2015 Thread

I can't say anything regarding the NFL or NHL, but the NBA's been doing this for at least a few years. It's annoying if you get there close to game time and it takes longer to get you in, but I always try to arrive early so it's usually not an issue for me.

I'd be shocked if they all weren't at that level. College sports are getting there too, they just seem to be a couple years behind. Theme Parks are a pain to get into now too. I just don't like it. Makes me feel more uncomfortable. Like I'm trapped in the building or something. And the whole cattle herding feeling. And obviously, it doesn't do anything. Everybody is a sitting duck in a queue line if some nutter wants to blow something up, sneak in a Chipotle burrito, shoot people or whatever they are claiming to try to prevent.

Andrian Gonzalez going to hit 220 homers this year. Parks one every time I turn from the Jazz game to Padres/Dodgers.

This is cute. I'm sure you're joking, but is this the rallying cry of the Rockie fans who leave comments on the ESPN boards and youtube? I could see that being the go-to point for the stereotypical 'dumb fan'.

League's best hitting club, adequate pitching if they weren't at altitude, would be able to recruit much better pitching in a park that doesn't tear up pitchers arms because the thin air won't allow the ball to break so they adjust their throws to death, don't trade Jeff Samardzija because they're too cheap to ever win anything.

Oh, disregard that, just re-read your post. I agree the Rockies suck. The altitude is a big problem for them. I disagree that they have the league's best hitting club.

Actually seeing this Rockies lineup is impressive. Above-average players everywhere except C and 2B. Some really good ones in the corners of the OF and, of course, Tulo.

They still suck doe.

Last season they led the NL in damn near every hitting statistic. MLB doesn't have the splits up that I cold find but IIRC they led both leagues similarly, without a DH. The home road splits didn't change it either.

Best hitting team in baseball.

Not sure if serious, but the Rockies OPS was #1 at home and #29 on the road. They have some good players, but the Coors Field effect is massive.

So ignore the altitude when evaluating their hitting, but cite it when evaluating their pitching? They play more games @ Coors than anyone else. They should lead the league in hitting statistics every year.
