What's new

***Official new head coach search thread*** (merged)

Here's a wild idea.
Would Warriors consider Ty Corbin as HC?
He's the opposite of M Jackson.
He a loyal company yes man who follows orders.
A stabilizing force who gets along with everyone.
Did he play with Del Curry?
He has some connections to Steph Curry if so.

Not meaning to sound like a dick...but why should we care about Golden State's coaching search? This is a Jazz forum, I care about who the Jazz will hire. Screw Golden State...

Aside from us owning many-a-pick from them for the next three years, I couldn't think of anything more Jazz-relevant than their franchise steam rolling into the ground over the next decade.

Good point. In that case, let's hope Golden State **** blocks us and "steals" Boylen away from us.

According to the Journal Times:

"The speculation of Utah possibly hiring Ettore Messina definitely has legs. Messina, currently the head coach of CSKA Moscow, is well respected in the coaching fraternity and, more important, has a great rapport with some Utah front office officials."

It is not has high profile as soem other jobs (Lakers, Knicks) but I think Utah has it's own appeal. Family friendly, growing team with solid building blocks, job security (as you mentioned), history of winning and competing...

Don't forget the tremendous fan support and a relatively docile media. Don't think too many coaches are into the clubbing scene. A stable front office, a competent GM, and roster flexibility are all desirable in coaching and Utah has all of that in Spades. If the Jazz get a top 3 pick, they could easily be the top coaching destination. This is why the Boylen talk is crap. . .

Anyplace is family-friendly when making several million dollars a year.
