What's new

***Official new head coach search thread*** (merged)

So does he have assistant coaches from over there that he likes to coach with that he could bring over? Any of these guys on CSKA?

Because that would have to be a huge plus in his favor if he could staff a whole bench that he is familiar with, if they are also capable of course. And maybe combine that with a guy or two that is more familiar with the Jazz/NBA. Or maybe he already has a bunch of guys in the NBA that he knows. I don't know, just thinking.

Euro coaches generally love to bring their assistants to their new teams, I mean it's the same in the NBA too but, in Europe it's almost a must and a case of the contracts/deals most of the time. So I believe he would bring at least his right-hand man(whoever he is).

I'm sure these gems have been posted somewhere on here, but they need to be in this thread. Too golden..

Welp, may not be what many people want to hear, but can confirm with 100% certainty that Dennis Lindsey really wants to hire Jim Boylen.

Very informed source calls Jim Boylen the "clear front runner" to be hired as the next head coach for the Utah Jazz. Stay tuned.

I don't get all the Boylen angst. All of his issues at Utah, wouldn't be issues for the Jazz. College and NBA are two totally different games. I love how people proclaim Lindsey is the savior in one breath but rail on Boylen in the next. He is a good coach, and if you took Utah off his resume, he would be the most qualified "up and comer" on all our lists.

Anyways, the real genius behind leaking Boylen is, no matter who Lindsey hires, everyone will be happy because it "wasn't Boylen."

Must admit at first when reading Boylen, I thought of Jim Boylan, the long time assistant of Scott Skiles.
NOw that I know he's a former Utes coach I'm totally hyped for the reason that it will generate some interesting UGLI posts.

Just curious why you think he's a good coach. What has he done?

When is CSKA's season over, anyone know?

VTB United League(Think former Sovjet Country collective domestic league/mini euroleague) finals game 5 is June 17
Euroleague Final Four is in the middle of May

Will mainly depend on success I guess?

1- Longabardi
2- Messina
3- Krystowiak

Grandpa's wish list in order.

Boylen hire would make me an instant fan of nobody in particular and my main rooting interest would be in how soon the Jazz leave Salt Lake. If Boylen couldn't relate in a positive way with college players how the hell would he survive in the NBA?
