What's new

***Official new head coach search thread*** (merged)

Anyone know if the Eurocup final four will be broadcast in USA?

Messina vs Blatt on Sunday May 18, 10 am local.

Watch the future Jazz coach and future Jazz player Sonny Weems.
You mean Euroleague(Eurocup is the second tier tournament). Messina vs Blatt on May 16 actually(semifinals), final and 3rd place game will be on May 18.

ESPN3 aired bunch of Euroleague games so far, I couldn't find a schedule for the Final Four yet but they should broadcast it.

Thanks for the corrections and the info. I hope I can watch.

And the rest of you, look Europeans are so sophisticated they have an internet page and it's even in English. (Yes, that was sarcasm) www.euroleague.net

Haha, no problem.

Btw, to be honest, organization wise Euro-Basketball sucks comparing with the NBA. Websites are awful, broadcasting is third-class quality, the whole basketball structure is messy and has little entertainment value. Not to mention soccer's huge shadow on Basketball.

Latest on Steve Kerr front: Utah Jazz, I'm told, have also tried to wedge their way into the race for the TNT analyst alongside NYK and GSW

Steve Kerr should avoid the La and new York jobs. Golden State should be his#1 the Jazz have no shot.

Can somebody please tell me what is Kerr's attraction as a head coach in the NBA? He has no coaching experience period. How can he be expected to just come in and weave magic?

1) He has front office experience.

2) Apparently everybody thinks he has the kind of personality players can relate to and the tactical knowledge.

There's other things that are pretty thin as well. But nevertheless the guys in charge think he's ready and based on his work in Phoenix they wanna give him a chance.

Steve Kerr looks and sounds like a smart guy but I rather want the new coach to be an experienced one. Not a dinosaur coach like George Karl or Sloan but a seasoned, crafty coach. We had already made a mistake when we gave a young rebuilding roster into a rookie coach's hands, I don't want us to do the same thing again and hire another inexperienced one.
