Alex Kennedy said:Reminder: Rookie-scale deals won’t increase with the rising cap. Those numbers were agreed upon in 2011 CBA. Rookies will be great bargains. Many around NBA expect a significant amount of trades during the 2016 NBA Draft. That’s what happens when so many teams have multiple picks.

Raymond Lacasse @CelticsFanRay
crazy trade rumor i heard... Gordon Hayward and Dante Exum for Marcus Smart, Jordan Mickey and 3rd/16th picks
Here you go, just for the heck of it a random tweet.
Literally zero chance of this happening.
Alex Kennedy:NBA projects 2016-17 cap is $92 million, with luxury tax threshold of $111 million. Salary floor (minimum team must spend) is $82.8 million.
Forget the draft, this is what the off-season is all about.
Jazz have to add 25.8 million in salary just to reach the minimum salary. They can spend 35 million and still be under the cap. There are 10 teams with more cap space avaialb ethan the Jazz.
Team 2016-17 committed salary
20. Utah $57,016,455
21. Portland $54,418,737
22. Atlanta $52,426,293
23. Memphis $49,765,488
24. Miami $48,008,675
25. Washington $45,557,059
26. Charlotte $38,830,763
27. Orlando $35,527,840
28. Boston $27,685,220
29. Philadelphia $26,762,657
30. LA Lakers $23,126,154
We will use $10m or so of that to extend favors. And I expect us to offer a free agent a two year $30M deal with second year unguaranteed. Will be a one year overpay for someone.
Or we trade for a guy like Rudy Gay that has a short contract.
Basically pretty meh.
