What's new

OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

Lol. The trade was voided due to a player not passing the physical. It's happened from time to time. Did they know he wouldn't be able to pass a physical? Who knows.

They can still trade him, it's just more complicated as other teams can stop the trade. I think. Doesn't every trade from here on out go through some sort of wavers?

Jazz have been pretty good as of late at home. They play the Rockets in Utah, so there's that.
Might be wrong on this, but if a player is claimed on waivers, I think the new team is responsible for his remaining salary. If he clears waivers and then signs with a new team, Houston has to pay the difference. Doesn't Lawson have an option for next year? Not sure if he can still be traded this season or only waived.

As for the injury, everyone knew about Motiejunas' back problems, but I guess they are more serious than Houston disclosed.

It's cool that Lillard played college ball here but now that he is in Portland I kinda wish his penis would fall off. Does that make me a homer?

Last Night's recap:

Mavs lost!!!! That's great. So did the Clippers hahaha. Wolves, Lakers and Kings also lost.

Spurs, Warriors, Thunder, Nuggets and Grizzlies won.

Aside from the Grizzlies win not a bad night at all.

Tonight's games:

Warriors @ Magic (eh)
Thunder @ Pelicans (eh)
Nets @ Suns (Suns need to challenge the Lakers for a pick)
Rockets @ Blazers (win win, hate the rockets though)
Spurs @ Jazz (This is going to be tough)

Spurs are coming off a back to back. They just played in Sactown. Unfortunately no one played over 32 minutes. Jazz have a big test tonight.

Jazz now in the 8 spot, and just a game and a half behind the blazers for the 6 spot... even though the blazers have gone 9-1 over their last ten. Hopefully they come back to earth soon so the jazz can catch them!

Think we got to cheer for Blazers in this one. Tie breaker is gone so add an extra game of cushion between them and us, going to be very hard to catch. Gotta keep the Rox down, especially with a tough road trip coming up for us. A win for us tonight would be as amazing as it is unlikely

**** that.

I'm swinging for the fences and going after portland. The rockets will be in our rear view.

Go rockets!

I've got a feeling that we pull off a win tonight.
Me too
I actually just posted something similar in a different thread before seeing your post

Just read this on ESPN

11 of Portland's next 13 games will be on the road. And eight of those 11 games are against teams that would make the playoffs if the season ended today

Seems like we might move ahead of Portland by the time that is done.

Thoughts??
My best guess is:

Blazers (0-10)
Grizzlies (0-10)
Mavs (0-10)
Rockets (1-9)
Jazz (10-0)

I like the Jazz's chances to get to the 6 seed. Or at least the 7 seed. They will pass the mavs, and if the blazers come back to earth they will get the 6 seed. If Grizz fall off sharply, the jazz still have the outside shot at the 5 seed.

Bummer that the Blazers played like the Golden State Warriors against us, and then forget how to play basketball against Houston.

Nights like tonight make me not very excited about the Jazz making the playoffs.
