OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

Jazz missed a good opportunity last night by loosing.

The Thunder, Spurs, Clippers and Kings all lost while the Rockets, Suns, Warriors and Blazers (grrr...) won.

Jazz could have had a top 4 seed. But they lost and dropped to 11th...updated OP.

But that's OK! Jazz play tonight. Games of interest!

Thunder @ Bulls
Heat @ Wolves
Hornets @ Mavs
Jazz @ Nuggets
Grizzlies @ Blazers (toss up I guess)

Bolded teams I want to win.

Big win for the Jazz tonight. Wolves lost, Thunder lost, Mavs lost. NICE

Updated again. Lol The Thunder, and Kanter, are 3rd in the NW right now. NW teams have the 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th seeds.

NW record : 14-10
Atlantic record : 8-15
Central record : 15-10
SE record : 14-11
Pacific record : 13-11
SW record : 10-15

League wide Jazz are 12th.

No Jazz game tonight but still some games to keep an eye on.

Lakers @ Nets (this game will be ugly)
Hawks @ Pelicans
Pistons @ Suns
Nuggets @ Warriors (6-0 coming up, Jazz are not catching the Warriors but the Nuggets are right on the Jazz's heels)
Rockets @ Kings (Go Kings!!! Either way is a win for the Jazz but I just can't bring myself to cheer for the Rockets)

I have a legitimate question for you and all other Jazzfanz. How much money would it take for you to be paid to cancel your Friday night plans and watch the Lakers vs. Nets game alone?

The Rockets should steamroll the Kings and I think I am rooting for that because I think the Rockets are a lock to finish ahead of us where as the Kings will be nipping at the Jazz heels all season. But generally speaking, I feel dirty for hoping the Rockets win because I don't like them or their fans.

I agree but piss on the Rockets on principal. Just can't do it.

Pelicans lost. Again. When they get healthy they are going to have a huge hole to dig themselves out of. They are 0-5 and already 2 1/2 games out of the 8th spot.

Lakers finally won and are now 1-4.

Nuggets @ Warriors and Rockets @ Kings still waiting for tip off.

I have a different point of view on the "tiers" in the West

Tier 1: Warriors
Tier 2: Thunder, Clippers, Rockets, Spurs
Tier 3: Grizzlies, Jazz, Suns, Pelicans, Blazers, Mais
Tier 4: Kings, Timberwolves, Nuggets, Lakers

Warriors remain in league by themselves. The only team with the talent to challenge the Warriors are the Thunder and they seem hungry. But they won't have enough, lose in WC finals.
Spurs finish 5th seed due to age and rest.
Only 5 locks. Battle for last 3 playoff spots. I pick Grizz, Jazz, Suns

I was hoping we would be better than New Orleans this year. Looking at the potential contenders for playoffs spots before the season, NO was definitely one
to be worried about. It's looking good early though! They are super thin at C, and already in a hole. Some thought the Lakers might be a contender for a bottom seed. That is not looking true at this point. Minn still looks too young. Portland is the surprise team early. Can they sustain?

I think the key is to bury some of these teams early that might catch fire late in the season. If we can put a good enough cushion on teams like the Pelicans, Tpups, Lakers, and Mavs it'll put all the pressure on them come crunch time. Like last year when we put it together in Feb it was already too late to really do anything. I love talking playoffs in Nov. lol.

Decent night, the Pelicans, Nuggets, Suns and Kings all lost last night.

Lakers, Rockets and Warriors Won. Lakers are only 1-4 now and the Jazz are not catching the Warriors. The Rockets are turning it aroound and are now right behind the Jazz.

Tonight is another night for good games:

Grizzlies @ Jazz
Wolves @ Bulls
Pelicans @ Mavs
Hornets @ Spurs
Warriors @ Kings
Rockets @ Clips

If the Jazz win and key teams lose the Jazz can get some seperation tonight and maybe move up a little.
Updating standings now.
