What's new

OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

we are 4-7 against Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, Portland, Memphis and Kings.

Crazy that the Jazz are only 4 games out of the five spot.

And only 1 game out of 10th - or 4 games out of 12th if you want to look at it that way.

Those footsteps you hear may be New Orleans. They were decimated by injuries early and have played 17 home vs. 22 away. That might be worth a couple of wins right there, bringing them back into contention for a playoff spot. And if Boogie and Karl are getting along - which they have been doing of late - Sacramento is a real threat, too.

Portland has 1 more win now... they're starting to catch fire on the back of Lillard's breakout year....

Yep, Portland too. I'm not sure you can call it a "breakout year." He's already considered one of the best PG's in the league. Scoring has gone up from 21 to almost 25 because he lost two big weapons in Aldridge and Matthews. He has to carry a bigger load, But damn, why can't we have a player make a leap like McCollum has? I get so jealous seeing all these teams that have legitimate shooters. I think Utah either needs to post a Help Wanted ad for a quality shooting coach or change their drafting priorities. Yes, defense is important. But so is putting the ball through the damn hoop!

Not just scoring..... he has made it his mission to get his teammates involved this year and has had 7, 9, 10, 9, 10, 10 assists over the past 6 games since he came back from injury. He averaged only 6.2 last year.

In that light, then I see what you mean. He is definitely the team leader. Maybe that's what we need. Rudy is fiery, but he doesn't have the skills to just take over a game. Gordon is soft-spoken; he's not going to do it. Definite spot for a leader. Not sure we'll ever have one, though. Favors is kind of quiet and Exum is scared of his own shadow,

Yeah .... I applaud DL for trying to build the Jazz like the '04 Pistons... but we still need our "Mr. Big Shot".

Last night:

Rockets, Wolves, Suns and Nuggets lost.

The Mavs, Pelicans, Blazers and Thunder won.

Tonight's games:

Warriors @ Pistons
Blazers @ Sixers
Knicks @ Grizz
Lakers @ Jazz
Kings @ Clippers (Kings loss is better IMO)

I'll update the OP tomorrow.

I took a week vacation and didn't get to check Jazzfanz that often. The Jazz picked up a much needed blowout win last night against the miserable Nets and now because the Washington game got postponed the Jazz have a lot of games at home in a row. The Jazz are primed to retake the 8 seed sooner rather then later! LETS GO
