I know, being optimistic about one of the best teams in the league on their own fan forums. Circle jerk!

You've always been one of this site's prime dumbasses.

"You've always been one of this site's prime dumbasses".

Why are you so threatened by me?

This is how I view last night: we have 3 chances to get home court. We lost the first one. If we win one of the next two, we've got it back. Being the road team has way less pressure in a series like this.

And our guys are a true band of brothers this year. Rather than holing up at home they're going to be spending time together in transit, like a pilgrimage of sorts, to OKC. The great anthropologist Victor Turner talked about the communitas, or sense of shared identity within a community, that can develop on such a journey. So may it be.

I don't read too much into last night's loss because the team was clearly tired due to the B2B, but I think HCA is going to be important regardless of what the coaching staff and players are saying right now (which is what they're supposed to say anyway). The Thunder have one of the toughest courts in the league and an amazing playoff atmosphere that could affect the Jazz at some points (a good start in game 1 would be huge), and it will probably factor in the star treatment that Westbrook and to a lesser extent PG are surely going to get, with a ton of trips to the line.

I also expect OKC to put a lot of pressure inside on both ends and make it a very physical game, and we've seen Rudy struggle against Adams before, and the team fail to secure defensive rebounds in some key moments during the year. The Thunder are the top offensive rebounding team in the league and if the Jazz want to have a chance to advance they need to keep OKC from getting extra possessions.

The Jazz are a better all-around team and they will definitely have a chance to win it, but all in all I think the Thunder are favorites here because they are more experienced, they have HCA and more star power to open some distance in what should be some really hard-fought games, and I think the Jazz are going to find they need some more firepower in their starting unit if they want to become true contenders in the future. I have the Thunder winning in 7, but hopefully Utah can win the rebounding battle (or at least keep it close), Rubio can slow Westbrook down a bit (he's done it already) and the Jazz can take one game in OKC and wrap it up at home, prolonging what's already been an extremely succesful and enjoyable season.

Does OKC even have a back up C? They have no bench, they'll have to resort to hero ball, we can beat that. Jazz in 6 or 7

The most interesting thing for me is how much of a mystery this series is. These are two teams that, in substantial ways, haven't really seen each other this year. Against the Clippers last year I could analyze the previous games played, see where we looked good, where we fell short (meaning I didn't think we'd win the series, because we had such a hard time winning in LA for so long). In this case, the previous games tell me precious little about what to expect.

I am expressing my opinion on your dumbassery as well. I can't neg or dislike, so if you predict OKC will win, I'm calling you a dumbass. I think it's fair.

That's cool. You like to attack me. I get it. It's a recurring theme with you. Not sure why exactly. But I'm not looking for your approval.

I don't act like that because I'm a grown up. I like to compliment people. I challenge you to find any instance of me starting **** on the board unless it's with Cy or maybe one other poster who feels the need to treat people like ****.

I'm not a fanboy. I love our team. Love each player. Love our coach. Love this forum. But I'm not going to let that sway my opinion in order to fit in.

Sorry, but I'm just not all that scared of a team that just let the Memphis Grizzlies drop 120 on them. The difference between the defense we faced last night and what we will get from OKC is night and day. People freaking out over last nights game need to get a grip.
