***Official Summer League Thread***

Re: Russell, every year we yap online about how stupid it is to overreact to summer league (even have a thread dedicated to it this year), then every year that is exactly what we do.

Russell another bad game, a true Burke-like summer league for him.

But we can't say anything about players being bad in summer league...or is that only if it is Jazz player we have shut our mouth? I don't care I say it. LYLES SUCK SOOOO BAD IN SL.

Nah wins in Summer League don't haunt me.

I keep hear this from everyone and I can hear Kevin Pelton on NBA podcast say that players who really struggle in SL generally struggle in the season and versa. I am not the one with a brain like Pelton, but he say it and he says that it does matter more than people here pretend it does and I know if Lyles does well everyone will say that it does matter how good he is.

How many SL MVP's have become stars in the league?
Conversely, how did Gobert do in his first SL? Just relax, Lyles is a project. As for Booker, whose minutes was he going to take: Hayward's, Hood's or Burks'? I'd take any of those three over Booker.

I just say what Pelton says in the podcast. Lyles is 12 pick. he should have shown he was good for something in 5 times! Booker would have been great for 10 minutes a game this year. Lyles probably does not play much, but maybe? I just don't see it from him and that includes college. Kentucky is my favorite team and I know alot about it.

No one is saying he is the mvp, he just looked really good today. Personally I'd rather have him develop into Burks' role and have Burks traded. I believe his skillset would compliment our team more so than Burks'. Here's to hoping Hood stays healthy this year.

I dont want insult you as You could be a top 30 poster here and smart, but what minutes lyles taking? We should take BPA and only jazz can think thats lyles. sorry.

Lyles is a project, that if I he works out, will be a much more valuable piece than Booker. Booker is a 3 and D guy without the D. If you are drafting for summer league, you go with Booker. If you are trying to manufacture something out of the #12 pick, you look for things a little differently. Booker was worth a 12 pick, but will probably not be a top 10 player from this draft. Lyles has a chance of doing that at a position and skill set that is harder to find. It's the Trey Burke lesson. Jazz liked Glannis, but discarded measurable for the more polished, yet less athletic Burke. They probably won't make that mistake again. Fortunately the backup plan was all world. . .
