The Return of Mo....... to The Bucks Trade

The Jazz do it: Get a young PG with potential and a young SF with potential. Toliver is in there to balance the budget.

The Bucks do it: Get a veteran PG who can be relied on more than Jennings/Ellis and will fit in better with their new found focus on big men. Which leads me to Josh Smith. Would a Smith/Sanders front-court work? I don't know. Would they be fun to watch and rack up a ton of highlight-real blocked shots? Definitely.

The Hawks do it: I think they are ready to part ways with Smith, might as well gets something in return. Ellis will give them instant offense, which is something they lack. The combination of Ellis on a strong defensive team may be a good combination. Dalembert gives them an upgrade at backup center, or could even be played as a starter with Horford at PF. Although it would hurt their help defense, it would improve their ability to protect the rim in the painted area.

Ha, didn't realize I only gave Mo up. We would probably have to throw in some picks to sweeten the deal for somebody. Most likely to the Bucks.

It violates Numb's rule (good rule) in that players on rookie contracts don't get traded unless they suck, but I guess Smith could be considered a "star".

Ha, their entire back-court could be gone after the year is over. I guess they would probably balk at his deal due to the relative success they are having this year. Mo Williams is probably on the same level as either Jennings or Ellis though, and provides more stability (though I guess that is BS because its hard to provide stability when you are injured.).

I don't know how the Hawks feel about their future with Smith, I thought I read somewhere they aren't really interested in re-signing him though.


Basically, 3 mediocre teams are swapping their mediocre "key players" in hopes of finding a better fit.

But c'mon, the idea of a Sanders/Smith front-court is pretty cool to think about, right?

I don't think it's a sign of anything. There usually aren't a lot of rumors about the Jazz.

Why would New Orleans do that? Both Anderson and Lopez are productive and signed to very reasonable deals.

I suppose they wouldn't. Can throw picks to balance. I saw it as Big Al being better than either of those players, to strengthen their starting lineup to Big Al, Davis in the front court. It would depend on how much they could re-sign Al for. Plus I haven't posted many, if any, trade ideas, and im bored in class, trying to entertain myself.

Edit: It works if you substitute Jason Smith for Lopez as well.
