Official trade Exum and/or Bradley into cap space thread

So many people on this forum have no clue about basketball. They should go and support another sport. Lol. Especially infection he's lost the plot lol

If hes only playing 15 minutes of D against Harden its worth it.

Jazz should be worried about specific match ups than they are getting another score first forward.
lol, you didn’t address any of the context questions. Your sample size is almost non-existent.

The easiest way to get Royce 30 minutes a night is to start him at 4... I think he’s perfect for that starting group. Put him on the opposing teams best wing and allow him to spot up. He’s low usage and rebounds well... a pf has to close out to either him or Bojan and I like their chances.

Ingles comes off the bench but likely closes games. IF Exum is healthy or top 8 guys are solid and Niang is a fine 9th man. Could add a buyout guy or see what happens at roster cut time.

One thing to note... we didn’t have to cut Neto to make room for Bojan. So they likely have someone else in mind for that spot. Maybe they make Bojan contract descending but the numbers worked to keep Neto... makes me think they have something in mind.

If we are moving Exum it won't be until mid-season imo. He has to show he's healthy or no one will want him.

This is wrong. Exum's value only increases when he is NOT playing. He hid in Australia instead of coming over to play college? Draft stock increased. He missed most of two seasons of his first four? Got rewarded with a big new contract. His absence only makes the heart grow fonder! If he can manage to sit out the upcoming season, he should be setup for a massive payout soon after.

Was Royce a PF in college? I’m cool with the idea of him starting at the 4, but it’s hard for me to believe that making that his primary role is an ideal scenario, even at this stage.

Who do we play at the 4? If you're talking about defense, are you cool rolling with Ingles and Bojan at the 4? Do you not view Morris as a defender? I don't think any of us are wanting to dump Exum for a scorer. We're wanting to dump him for someone who can legitimately play the 4, start, play defense, and still have to be guarded on the perimeter. Morris checks all of those boxes.
I don’t know enough about Marcus Morris to have a strong opinion, but if your argument is that we need Exum to guard one guy even though he is terrible offensively, how on earth can you then trash Morris when one of the main points is his ability to guard who would be our biggest matchup issue right now (LeBron)? Especially since it looks like Morris has a much larger sample.

At the game yesterday they showed Niang, Donovan and Exum in the crowd and when they showed Dante some in the crowd started to boo and they quickly went to a shot of something else. Then they went back to Exum after a bit. Uncomfortable.
Sorry love, I didn't hear that at all where I was sitting.

I just dont get the huge rush to axe Exum in favor of more scorers. The Jazz added two guys who averaged 20 last yeaf. They good on scoring. Exum is one of the Jazzs few defense first plus athletes left on the roster.

Isn't Rxum still rehabbing? What if he isn't ready to go for the season? Perish the thought, I know!

Yeah, the problem with this is the flip side that the FO and half of Jazz Nation then thinks “OMG the potential!”

He hasn't played 24 minutes per game since his rookie season. His last three years he's averaged 18 minutes per game.

Okay. But the Jazz are used to implementing a Davis-type guy for limited minutes at the 4. If Niang is ready to start, then go ahead. But he may not be.

Bojan and Niang are the only clear options on the roster (IMO). I think you lose some tactical advantage by starting Bojingles together, because i) both will a little gassed for the 4th quarter, and ii) one of them is going to get muscled on some nights by bigger 4s. I think Royce is needed to spell those guys, and Mitchell.
