Official UofU homer thread

Sorry ute fans. I feel for ya.

Way too conservative of an offense.

Need to run some screens, crossing routes to take advatange of receivers, and uncork some deep balls over the middle. Utah's running attack was ok. But their passing attack was way too conservative.

It would be nice to see Utah put someone away early. Instead, with their ultra conservative playcalling, they allow teams to hang around.

I think it's time for Whit to move on. This late season collapse is now a yearly ritual. Not only that but in a span of a few short seasons, we've seen Mike Leach and Mike McCintyre take over lesser programs and IMO, get much more out of less compared to Whit. Hell, we could hire Leach away from Wazzu tomorrow. And why shouldn't we? For as long as Whit's here, we'll be that "plucky" 8-9 win team that plays really hard, is respected by everybody, but doesn't win any PAC titles and can't figure out how to develop QB's. Hell, we can't even win the South.

Hasnt Utah basically been overachieving the entire season because of the coach?

I don't believe that to be the case. Whit is a good coach, and he'll win 8-9 games just about every year, but if you're Utah's administration, I think it's time to talk about the fact that Utah has probably reached its ceiling under Whit.

I would have thought kicking Alabama's *** in the Sugar Bowl was the ceiling, but what do I know?
