What's new

Official UofU homer thread

Maybe now the media will stop with being late too the party reporting, the Special Teams starting last year has been slipping, Phillips has been less then average and Hackett has been good but not great this year and the coverage teams have been average since last year. The punter and punt returns have been really the only the only things that have been anything but above average.

Utes special teams is -15 points this game

Wow. Booker was having a crap game so he had to make it all up on one play.
Most of it was the Oline and the blitzing but it was really more like 2 plays, a 30 something yard run and then that 63 yard run, pretty much had 100yrds on those two carries.

I'd like to register my happiness with the Utes win. That team could have mentally folded in the 3rd quarter (or earlier) but they didn't. I love to see grit and patience. Glad to finally have a win against ASU too.

How many drops did ASU have. They shot them selves in the foot a bunch. Seemed like everytime they were about to do damage they had a really bad drop.

Was the defense that good or was asu that bad on offense? Great win nice to see Booker break a long one at the end.
Umm, on an open field any offense can score. What makes an offense look bad? Answer = Defense!

There's no two ways about it. Utah's defense won the Cal game and they won the game tonight. It's going to be the defense and Devontae Booker that gets Utah where they deserve to go.

Honestly I thought that our defense looked that good. Granted that ASU's receivers dropped a few easily catch-able passes (and 1 or 2 TD's among them), but our defense was stout.

Looks like Fakailoatonga and Norris and maybe (camera cut away before he could get up) Butler-Byrd got injured. Anyone have any word on those guys?

Fixed

Although one of the commentators managed to call Travis Wilson Trevor or something like that. I just chuckled to myself because no one called him on it.
