Official UofU homer thread

Heard today UofU hired a stud to be their men's lacrosse coach and that as of now, they're just a club team but he wants to bring them to be a varsity team and basically the first one outside of Denver on the west coast. Pretty sure he was the goalkeeper coach at UNC which is a stud program.

So congrats Utes! He sounded classy, intelligent and like he'd be a heck of a coach.

Pretty good site?
I don't like any of the byu message boards.

Really really good site.
I like it a lot better than Utefans.net. And it's getting to be a lot busier lately - just in time for football season to start.
Well run, good format - admin's even open to suggestions for improving the site much like Jason is on here.

But can you "Like" posts though?

Prediction. USC goes 6-6 at best (they have a brutal schedule and could legit go 4-8 or 5-7), fires its' coach, and then hires Chip Kelly who bolts or is fired from the 49ers. Maybe USC and Kelly each stand pat one more year but I predict he'll be the coach there in one or two years.

What the Pac12 Should offer the Big 12.

Big12 drops GOR and avoids a court battle
Pac12 agrees to 15 year contract.
OK and Kansas full Pac membership
Texas plays a yearly 6 game series with rotating Pac14 teams. 3 games on P12N 3 on LHN. TX agrees to join the PAC when their LHN deal expires(or at leaast agrees to join the PAC if any). Texas also plays TT, TCU, and Baylor every year.
The Lucky 7(rest of the Big12) continue to play each other but do not expand. OK st, KS st, Iowa st, and WVU play 2 Pac12 teams every year. The Lucky7 also move their 3rd tier rights to the P14N and get paid as if they were a full member.

Result a 14 team league with Texas in waiting. A conference owned network that spans from LA to west virginia. Texas keeps LHN money. Lucky7 schools get stability beyond 2024(8yrs). ESPN doesn't have to pay Memphis 25 million a year. BYU left out in the cold bwahahahaha.

thoughts?

Chip Kelly would be a mistake at USC. USC's legacy is Pro Style Offense, NFL QB's, amazing run games and incredible defenses. Kelly is none of that. He would be wasted at USC.

You need a Kyle Whittingham there. You need a guy who loves defense and the run game. That plays to USC's strengths, history and tradition.

Or Jim Mora. Could you imagine that defense with Rosen as the QB? Wowza. USC may be the dumbest run school out there...with Texas.

Holy crap. Not too bad. I think the only issue that the Lucky7 won't want to do that...BUT, if they left for another conference, they would lose their full payout until 2014. I do think some Lucky7 teams would get snapped up by the Big 10 and ACC....like Kansas.

You'd probably have to admit Ok, Ok St, some Texas team and go to 15. Have Texas take a ND type deal with the PAC-12. Then, when the LHN folds, they become a full member.

Texas would then be a pseudo-Indy team ala ND. Six games vs PAC-15 teams, BYU, another P5 school or two. That's 8-9 P5 games. Then they play filler. They would have a tough enough schedule for playoffs, but easy enough to win a lot of games.
