Official UofU homer thread

I honestly think Troy's stats looked a lot worse than the game the played. There were some dropped passes and at the end of the game we were into a run the clock/run the ball mentality. Part of the problem is our RB's lack of experience, you can tell they just don't have the vision that someone like joe williams had last year. Losing Huntley sucks in that I don't think teams respect Troy on the run, he just doesn't have that burst that Huntley has. Huntley alsohad a great chemistry with Carrington, sucks to lose that...Jason Shelley is a guy we have who is more of a dynamic QB than Troy but he is just a true freshman.

Arizona is always tricky even though they aren't a very good team. They probably lead the country in little rb's that can break a tackle. But their Qb just isnt a great passer and makes too many mistakes.

From a defensive side I was impressed(if boobie would stop getting penalties) there were a lot of good hits in this game, shame that one ended up being targeting, one of the best hits i've seen in a while

We are in trouble if Huntley is down for a while. Williams just isn't a good QB. I can see why they chose Huntley over Williams now they are stuck with a sub par passing QB that also doesn't really add a running element to the game.

Relax.

Let's see what a bye week can do, both on the injury front and on the "Troy Taylor works on an offense around Troy Williams" front.

This. Utes still have a great defense, superstar wide receiver, amazing special teams, and are undefeated iirc.

Plus, I have seen plenty of past ute teams play great with crappy qb's. I think even as recent as last season (maybe 2 seasons ago?) They were ranked in the top 10 (top 5 maybe even) with a poor qb.

Those Ute teams also had a good/great running game. This team does not.

Update on Tyler Huntley:

Not a grade 3 AC separation.
Hairline fracture in one of his ribs.
Likely out 2-4 weeks.
In other words he'll be out for the Stanford game, and could be out for the USC game. I guess we'll see.

That not too bad, not to bad at all.

This running back Love from Stanford is an absolute beast. I think he has over 500 yards rushing in his past 2 games. Stanford is going to be an EXTREME test for Utah’s run defense.

I did him after the first game of the year to win the Heisman at 40:1. 50/2,000.

Dude has almost 1,100 rushing yards at around 11 per carry (insane) after just five games with seven games left.
