It's pretty unlikely. Possible sure, but very very unlikely. (You could say the same about every team except for maybe 4 or 5 though so it's not really a knock on Utah)

This is almost certainly utahs best team they have had since being in the pac12 and maybe their best team ever (the alex smith team with urban meyer kicked everyones *** that they played though and went undefeated so that team might be better). I know i have said it a few times already but 15 starting seniors on offense and defense is a ton of experience. They are pretty loaded.

The true test will be if and when they have a game where they get behind and have to abandon the run game and moss only gets like 10 carries while huntley has to throw 35-40 times. If they can win games like that then they might be playoff bound.

I gotta say im a little disappointed in the ute fans on this website for lack of posting activity in this thread. This is the best team in program history and might end up being the best season in program history and there is hardly any activity in this thread. Hell i still see more ute posts in the comment section of byu related articles than in the comments section of ute related articles.
Come on guys, lets get some action in this thread. Such a great season!
Ok, enough shaming, lets get some discussion.
What are the odds that Utah gets into the playoffs? 30% seems about right to me. I figure LSU, Clemson, and Ohio State are pretty much locks. So there is one open spot left. Who are the teams with a shot at that position? Utah, Georgia, alabama, oklahoma, baylor? (I dont follow college football very close other than byu and utah so im not sure i have those teams right or if im missing any teams)
Who does everyone think gets that final spot? Am i right about the other three teams being a lock or does anyone think there will be an upset?
 
Are Ute fans just bored by all the easy blowout wins and that's why there hasn't been much posting maybe? I kinda get that.

That Oregon loss hurts you guys. I think you need to beat them by about 30 to have a chance to get into the playoffs.

Actually looks like Baylor is out of the running. So Georgia, bama, Utes, Oklahoma? That's about it right? Utes have a better chance than I thought they did after all.
If all those teams win out then would Georgia be the 4th team? (They would have to beat LSU in the championship game). Would LSU still get in?
If Georgia lost to LSU then would bama get in since their only loss would be to the #1 team which would be the best loss possible? And it was a close loss iirc.

If Oklahoma handily beats a highly ranked Baylor in their championship game (does the big 12 even do championship games? Idk) would they get in ahead of the Utes? How far does Oregon drop in the polls after their loss to AZ state?
