Official Utah Utes Football 2012 Thread

I was with a bunch of rowdy drunk fans so I didn't always get to see all the replays or hear the TV so I didn't see some of what y'all are complaining about as far as the refs but a few of those PF's did upset me as I didn't see it. One I had a question on if it was just me was the INT that during the return a U player got a PF for a crushing block that you see all the time in fact in this very game a Y player had an even more crushing block when they had that big punt return. Anybody else remember this or was it just me.

Also I think I heard the refs were Big 12 refs, not sure what that really means or matters, unless you want to go all conspiracy and say they wanted to make there future team look better. *this is tongue in cheek*

I didn't know about the scheduling conflict and was wondering how and why nobody knew they had an agreement in 2013. I wanted them to play it but heck if the fans didn't know I'm worried about the players pulling a no show next year.

For the record I was hoping for the best but expecting the worst with the way they played last week and with the injuries mentioned, starting the back up QB (even if it was more of a plus then a minus), back up RB, minus two starting safeties out and people may have forgotten about Keith McGill also was injured (in spring ball) so that would be the 3 best safeties the Utes had planned on having for the season all out.

I'm not positive but pretty sure that ball can not be advanced by the kicking team unless it is touched again by a Ute player. Ute players were running from the ball so as not to touch it. Once the BYU player touched the ball the play should have been blown dead. The fans had 0 impact on any of that.

The Refs missed a # of intentional PF's by #9 on BYU. That guy should have been flagged 4 times and thrown out when he alligator rolled Hayes' legs attempting to injure him. I wish him nothing but a career ending injury in his next game.

If the ball is blocked and does not cross the line of scrimmage, it can be advanced by the kicking team. So basically it should not have been blown dead as you think... but the refs did get it right. The fans did enter the field in a live ball situation. I actually think the refs did a really good job, especially with all that was going on in this game.

I saw the alligator roll, and it was pretty cheap. Players that do that should be ejected. I did not see multiple issues with the same player, but I did see cheap stuff by both teams. It was not a one way street, but whoever did that leg twist stood out as a punk. You do not intentionally try to hurt people, that's messed up.

I'm a Utah fan, and I would've punched that drunk douchebag.

Did he do more than that or something? Because while I think the video is somewhat humorous, it doesn't seem like much. I was just browsing a BYU board and that seems to be all they are talking about. Personally, I'm all for bitter rivarlies as long it's not to the point where people feel like they need to swing on everybody that is wearing the opposite gear or whatever.

To my way of thinking, this guy embodies the "classless" stereotype.

There is a big difference between being an excited fan (most of the field rushers) and an obnoxious dick (taunting the opposing coach when the game is done). Heckling the other team during the game is different. Get into their heads. But at the time this occurred, the statement had already been made. There's no gamesmanship in it. You're just being an *******. I don't condone being an ******* just for the sake of being an *******. Have a purpose.

That guy was a real tough SOB. Did you see how he walked away from Bronco rather than run?

Yeah... totally boss. He was like...

I would have done more than punch him. I would have kicked him in the balls and made him eat a printed copy of the letter Dr. Chris Hill sent out to everyone before the game. Then maybe he won't forget it next time.
