The young LB's I think are hurting the D but somebody besides Star needs to step up on the DLine and the safeties particularly Blechen needs to step up big time, the U had UCLA in several 3rd and longs and gave up the first down more than they stopped. If my memory serves I think they actually stopped them more often on 3rd and short then on 3rd and longs and the D didn't force a single TO, the offense isn't good enough if the D can't at least do one of these (turn the other team over or get them off the field quicker).
Wilson is what Gunther said as far as he may show flashes of being able to win games but due to inexperience he may cost the game with TO's, now he only had 1 INT which was a horrible decision throwing into double coverage (almost triple as the third guy was a few yards away) on the opening drive when they had been moving the ball well. Then with no faith in the FG kicker (for good reason) went for it on several 4th downs and didn't convert any of them which is almost like a TO as far as momentum.
So when watching the game I had to keep in mind it is a freshman QB and basically a freshman OC running the offense (as well as a questionable OL) and while it sucks this year I hope this pays off in the future.
Oh and lastly penalties, this year for whatever reason the U is getting flagged a lot and to make it worse the timing of the penalties couldn't be much worse, the coaching really needs to get this fixed, like 3 weeks ago (still annoyed the the U WR Scott didn't get a PI call when the ucla DB was pushing him with 2 hands when the ball was about 10yrd away).
