First World War.
My first year of college, I had a roommate that dated this hippie chick. One day he was sitting on the couch with her and demanded I fetch him a beverage (in jest), so I replied that I wasn't his slave. She jumped up off the couch and proceeded to go off on me about how making light of slavery was an affront to blacks, which her father was. I hadn't mentioned anything of that sort, but being a nice guy, I apologized and explained that my statement held no intentional malice. She calmed down and returned the apology, then admitted that her dad wasn't actually black.
If she had been a guy, I would have started swinging right there and then.
I hate it when people lie to make a point. Low.

What makes you feel I have a reason to be "soreassed"? Your integrity is of little consequence to me. Lying is just a pet peeve of mine.
Where did you make me look bad? I don't recall that happening, so you may want to point it out to me. Was it your follow up to my comment (which, by the way, was merely a reference to Ute "classlessness" - it actually had nothing to do with your mother) in which you lied about your mom being dead? I'm pretty sure that didn't reflect badly on me.
I like you, CONAN, so I'm not going to let you risk spraining a finger or something beating me up. Besides, you would have to do something pretty awful to get me to fight (this little tantrum doesn't qualify by a long shot), so don't waste time waiting at the flagpole.

Hilarious how the most trash talking this rivalry is seeing right now is on this board. Across the airwaves, on most message boards, etc Utah fans are suddenly no where to be found.
It's almost as if they're expecting an epic *** kicking already. Which... I don't blame them.
But what most Utah fans seem to forget, Doman is hardly Sean Payton. And Nelson is hardly Drew Brees.
I actually wouldn't be surprised to see this game come down to the wire... Or to see Utah win.
BYU hasn't shown the ability to run the ball consistently and those ducks Nelson throws will be picked off.
The problem is... Utah's offense is barf no matter who plays QB. Which is a damn shame. BYU and Utah have some great receivers. It's too bad that the best QB in the state plays up in Logan. Imagine how good the "big boys" had a QB like Keaton (or like many upper tier Div I schools) who had the ability to throw the rock around consistently.

My thoughts on this years rivalry game...
I'm still way mad about the UT st game, but there is one positive to take away from it.
byu is notorious for buying into there own hype every year, (btw if you refute this, sorry your a huge homer.) Think "quest for perfection." Every year some byu dork (often a coach) tells the media that this is the best byu team evar and if they play their game aint nobody in the world gon' stop em!!!
This year was supposed to be different. There would be no way the cougs could come in over confident against The Utes after 54-10 right?? Then Utah loses to UT State and the zoobs just cant help themselves...
"We deserve this. Fetch, we have too much darn tradition honor and power."
It's amazing. byu should head into the rivalry game with a ginormous chip on their shoulder. They are the little guy who cant get into a conference, facing a team from a power conference. They are a team full of scrappy white guys facing elite athletes. They've lost 7 of the last 10 rivalry games. They got bitch slapped 54-10 in their own stadium just last year. Yet, they will walk into RES thinking they "deserve" to win and that they are the superior team and program coming to take what is rightfully theirs.
Its amazing really, but its just who byu is. They cant freaking help themselves.
So while it sucks way bad that we poo'd our pants against Ut St, its amazing beyond belief that on the heels of Pac 12 > Indy, just a few months after Utah basically ended the rivalry, and a year after handing byu the most embarrassing loss in school history, Utah will somehow come into the rivalry game as the pissed off team with something to prove. Hell yes.

It's not that Utah fans are afraid of a loss. I still expect Utah to win the game. Yes, it's going to be more difficult now that half the team isn't playing, but I still think Utah will win.
The reason you don't see many Utah fans is because this just isn't that big of a game anymore. The Pac 12 schedule has the Utes playing many good teams this season. This BYU game used to be the biggest game of the season for Utah fans. Now this BYU game is so far down the line of important games, it's only slightly above meaningless. It has zero impact on Utah's Rose Bowl hopes, Utah has already lost a game so the undefeated season is already gone, and half the team isn't playing so we can't even really take too much from the outcome.
With a brutal Pac 12 schedule looming, with every one of those having an impact on the Rose Bowl hopes, it's easy to see why a lot of people aren't as excited for the BYU game as in years past.
