A tough one to judge.
While Mo is a better shooter than Devin, that's about it. DEFENSIVELY, this is a downgrade at PG. Mo, at 6'1", will be helpless defending the likes of Derrick Rose, Deron Williams et al. Earl and Tinsley are poor defenders, although the effort is usually there. Devin at least had enough athleticism to contest. Remember, Mo was like only THIRD string on the Clippers until injuries got him more PT.
With that said, Marvin in theory should make us better overall offensively. He's got skills. And he is a good rebounder, which we need; he's actually taller than Millsap. ALSO, this gets Hayward to SG, which I think will help him improve his game. Not sure 'bout Marvin's D, but he at least has some size and athleticism.
We might see Hayward bring the ball up a lot more and getting us into the offense, which is not Mo's strength, but then it wasn't Devin's either. Gonna be interesting to see how this all pans out.
IMO, a gutsy move by KoC...

Mo started for most of his career, so the fact that he was 3rd string on the Clippers has more to do with the talent on that team, not about his lack of talent.

And I think it's extremely premature to say he's a downgrade defensively. Hell, I feel we'll at least get more effort out of Mo--he just has more fire in him, especially at this stage in their careers.

Rajan Rondo is one of best if not the best defensive PG and he is 6'1, earl watson is 6'1 and pretty good defensively. Hedo Turkoglu is 6'10 SF and not good defensively.

PG height isn't as important defensively as it is in the post (PF/C).

Mo is a downgrade defensively? Wasn't he our "Kobe stopper" at one point? Everyone is looking at his assist numbers while he hasn't been the primary ball handler playing with LeBron and CP3. He is a 7-8 apg guard otherwise with a good outside shot.

By the way, other than scoring big on the Deron trade - He also wasted 7 years of a great PG's prime by sending him to that wasteland known as NJ - If DWill reups with the Nets he won't sniff 50 wins again with that team. That has to count for something, lol...

Like TBS said, height doesn't matter too much at the point. And though Rondo is just 6'1", he has a 6'9" wingspan. Gordo's is just 6'7.75" in comparison. Dude's a specimen.

I'd love it if Millsap started and Corbin was just blunt. "Al, you're coming off the bench as we think it's best for the team." Based on his personality, I don't think Fatty would raise holy hell and if anything, my gut tells me this would light a fire under his *** and he'd play on a mission and have a career year. This would raise his trade value and we could maybe trade him for sound value in return come February. Then again, if Al's having a career year off the bench, we're probably in playoff contention and therefore know that KOC wouldn't trade Al. Sigh.

Holy muhhackmed it's getting awful from the old timers. You three re on notice--keep up the psychorabid AJ hate and I'll be forced to resurrect your talent evaluating records. FYI it ain't good. At all.

Ooooh! that was a spreadsheet threat.

Mo isn't gonna touch 7-8 APG, he just isn't that good of a passer/creator. Don't put expectations on him that he can't fulfill, expect him to shoot well and play average defense. That's about it.

Gods, a Jazz team with no Howard and CJ is seriously making my drawz wetter than a hot plate of yams with extra syrup.

Maybe I liked Harris a little to much or maybe it was the fact he was our best PG and one of the few 3 point threats on our team but can someone please explain why your all getting big *bleeps* over this and using most of the exception on Mo Williams?
Harris was our best PG and 3-Pt threat. What part of that statement doesn't make you throw up in your mouth. Harris has careeer averages of 44%/31% and 5 assists. Mo has career averages if 44%/39% and 5 assists. Pretty similar except when you watch them play and realize Harris gets a lot more of his shots of penetration. Mo is hands down a better shooter and stretches the defense with his ability to hit 3's.

So KOC essentially trades Harris and a fading and oft-injured Memo for Mo and Marvin Williams. Well done, Kevin.

Now where is that annoying KOCBegone?

To be honest, I was going to exclude you but you know how sensitive KEK and NUMB can be...

Corbin and KOC have eliminated Hairball and pissed off CJ and Bell by benching there worthless asses during the playoffs. Low hanging fruit is GONE so deal with Jefferson. The guy is productive as much as we may hate it. At least he wants to be here and isn't looking to get a raise, regardless. The guy is going to be a great piece on some team for $12-13mm per. Good deals are important to every championship team.

I think we keep Jefferson. We know have 3 good 3pt shooters as starters (Marvin has improved his 3pt shooting a lot). They will see how the 3pt model works with him.
