This is the most substantial info I've seen on there being mutual interest. Jones is pretty conservative with saying stuff like this.

I don't think that's true. You can't absorb a player without cap space, once that cap space is used, you aren't suddenly issued an MLE. You have cap space, or you have the MLE.

"Absorbing into capspace" was inprecise. Trading for Love with assets that would likely become capspace would be needed for the Jazz to have the MLE. This would also probably include resigning Rubio so that he doesn't become capspace.

I think he comes cheap-ish. But I don't know. That tier that will go higher than the MLE but won't get a max are hard to read. Until the max contracts are doled out, we can't predict very much of anything, including money.

Unless he blows up this series I can see anywhere from 12-18M being his per year range. If we can get Conley and retain 12M in space I think we'd have enough to be the highest bidder and we'd have an open starting spot.
