Maranhao(the state this occurred in) is looked down upon by brazilians as Arkansas or Missouri is by Americans. It's so unbelievably backwards if hurts the brain. This wasn't a major sports team either.
Having said that, where was the security? I get thst this wasn't the palmeiras or Corithians playing... but still? no security? Refs are packing weapons? Once again, neglect leads us to a completely preventable situation. Fans decaptitating refs? Think Duncan wishes he could do that to Joey Crawford?
I know, some people will blame the refs to justify their own actions. In reality, those fans were criminals before this ever even happened. They most likely sold drugs and were looking for someone to kill and mutilate.
Brazilians like to blame the system while ignoring their own personal well being. Instead of moaning about the government corruption cleanse thyself. Get off your butts and work. The government isn't going to make you rich. Stop blaming others and blame yourselves.
Yes, their government is corrupt. Yes they need to invest more in education and health care. But many folks just aren't taking advantages of their own opportunities. Many blame the government for their own shortcomings.
